- Incumbent candidate Ron Barber (CD-2) takes the stage to address his supporters with his family standing behind, stating he was optimistic as early results showed him in the lead over Republican candidate Martha McSally.
Congressman Ron Barber, who was up by about 4 percentage points, delivered a triumphant speech at the Democratic Party’s celebration.
“We’re ahead now and we’re gonna win this race,” Barber said.
Barber was in a rematch against Republican Martha McSally, who lost to Barber by just 2,500 votes in 2012.
An unknown number of votes remain to be counted, but Barber was leading by about 5,000 votes.
Barber took the stage as the crowd chanted his name.
“We said from the start that this campaign was going to be about issues and about policies and not about personalities,” Barber said. “We took the high road, not the low road.”

He sure did! Ron is a clean candidate in every way. He is a solid, thinking, congressman who cares about his district.
Too bad the people voting for Martha do not notice that he truly is the best choice for Tucson and the rest of district 2.
DID anyone one actually SEE his ads? HOW low is the HIGH Road these days? I am ashamed this person may win.. truly. Low Life Pelosi Democrats.. wow.
hes a demotard, voting with mc bama and peelosi almost 110% of the time

Election results are a repudiation of the progressive agenda and the President. Just look at the names that lost:
Goddard
Duval
Crist
Nunn
Udall
Barber (possibly)
Kagan
America said we want jobs and we want a border that is enforced. Democrats have failed to lead.
Oregon said we want to smoke dope.
Tucson said we want Grijalva to destroy TUSD and then we can sell the buildings.
Get your kids out of TUSD.
You guys really didn’t see this coming? Seriously?
Jobs, economy, border, health care, ISIS, Ebola, IRS fraud, Justice Dept fraud…..golf….rampant sexism and racism on the left…
and women and black republicans were elected in the south.
You need to rethink your thoughts. Who taught you what you know?
Arizona has spoken!!! Democracy is great! (unless you’re a democrat)
He is not leading he is actually behind in the race. He needs to man up and concede, as other than people living in Tucson, no one wants a Pelosi, Reid, and Obuma lap dog holding the office.
Funny quote. Barber is soliciting donations for a recount.
Send him your money.
Or would you expect the Koch Bros to pay for this too?
