Jim Nintzel will be doing a recap of sorts on all the ballot initiative spending in next week’s issue.

However, seeing as I don’t much care for bigotry, I thought I’d take this space to highlight all of the giving to Prop 102, which made government-recognized gay marriage really illegal by amending the Arizona Constitution to say that only one man and one woman could get hitched.

Just short of $7.8 million was raised by Prop 102 supporters. Wanna have a look-see at all the donors? You can find the reports here.

  1. I just glanced at it but what I found interesting is how so many people were not from Arizona. And then a lot of people gave $2.33 and $3.33. Maybe they bought merchandise like bumber stickers or something.
That gave me the creeps. I have to look up Center for Arizona Policy. I think I get telephone surveys from them. I’m certain I must skew their results.
What’s MDS Communications? They were too prevalent. So many from Mesa and Chandler and Peoria. Another reason not to spend much time in that part of AZ.

  2. MDS Communications is a telemarketing firm out of Mesa. They probably run the polls for these folks for free. There were lots of “in kind” contributions from churches.
