Hey, Arizonans: You saved the state.
With 84.4 percent of the precincts reporting statewide, Prop 100 leads by a commanding margin:
Prop 100 Yes: 651,784 votes, 64 percent
Prop 100 No: 366,503, or 36 percent
Interesting note: Yes is ahead in every county, save Mohave County. Support was widespread.

Amazing! Good news from Arizona for a change. Not from the legislature, of course, from the voters.
Maybe Ted Downing is right–maybe we need non-partisan elections for the leg. (And I am a rabidly partisan Democrat.) The reason the troglodytes run this state is because the most-right wing R wins in low-turnout primaries. I’m sure there are many good arguments against this, but the result of Prop 100 certainly shows that the GENERAL election voter (versus the primary voter) is much more moderate than the clowns in the state house and senate would indicate.
I try to stop reading when I see the phrase “Ted Downing is right.”
No more about lay-offs, school cuts or closing, police lay-offs, prison closing. Is everyone going to play nice now, oh, wait, bill 1070, awh, we stil be in the out house, ya just cant win, can you? I am sick and tired of everyone crying about the state of the State. So, does my wife get a raise after her 19 years with the school system, no! Just more tax $$’s wasted. Well,this should pay for some invaders from the south having babies for nothing and feeding the family for nothing……it just keeps getting better….
Great…more tax. Now, will everyone shut up? The schools will not close, the police can drive, the fire Dept. will stay open, the sun will come up again, everyone is happy. Now, the invaders from the south can still have babies for free, grow up and go to school free, and that is just the start. Good old Arizona, come one come all, oh, stop, we are still in the out house, we still have the nasty old law, 1070. We are still the bad guys, protecting our boarders, folks break the law, kill ranchers, trash the countryside, work for less, get paid under the table lower wages for the jobs that are still out thar someplace. Fly another country’s falg over ours, demand everything be in Mexacanes and English. This is not a melting pot. It is a salad. They do not blend in they stay seperate, just like the salad, you can pick out each veggie, not like a melting pot at all. Have a nice day.
