Someone is gonna make money on this wall deal. Credit: Danyelle Khmara
Is there any chance we could seal them all in Biosphere 2 for the next hundred years? Politico reports the Trump gang may be descending upon Tucson:

In what amounted to a kind of #MAGA field trip, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, former Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach, former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, baseball legend Curt Schilling, and former Sheriff David Clarke convened to discuss a new plan for building a wall along the southern U.S. border. Blackwater founder Erik Prince phoned in from South Africa.

With Congress refusing to pony up the $5.7 billion Trump has demanded for the project, his allies now are plotting to kick things off with private money and private land.

The idea, which began in December as a Florida manโ€™s quixotic online crowdfunding campaign, is becoming something more, well, concrete. Big name Trump supporters like Bannon, a former Trump campaign and White House strategist, have flocked to the project. And they have initiated talks with the Israeli firm that constructed that countryโ€™s border fence with Gaza, the group told POLITICO. They expect to hold a town hall in Tucson, Arizona, as soon as Friday and to visit the border in Laredo, Texas, next week.

  1. That’s mostly caused by opioid from big pharma. Quit with the misleading comments.

  2. Tucson’s “RAZA RACISTS” have Very Short memories.

On April 10, 2006, 10 of us confronted 15,000 maniacs in Armory Park screaming

“This is Mexico HERE! Send the Gringos back to Plymouth Rock!”

We burned two Mexican flags and started a Ten-year process during which America woke up to the Horror of what is happening on the Mexican/Arizona border.

Thus began the election of Donald Trump!

Guess What? The Fence is Going UP!

  3. Having the wall/steel structure at the southern border will allow the US to focus on expanding legal immigration and processing the good people that we all would like to see come in. And it would help reduce the flow of drugs, human coyotes, juvenile sex trafficers and MS13 gang members like the one that shot and killed another on a New York subway. Please don’t try to find a way to excuse this activity away. It is rotting the soul of America.

  4. There’s no “wall” going up, and there’s no “fence” going up, and there’s no “drug war” or “epidemic” coming across the non port-of-entry part of the border.

These lunatics have nothing useful to add to Arizona’s existing lunatics (Governer Ducey, Disgraced Sheriff Arpaio, and the other nutbars in the region).

Fortunately Tucson and Southern Arizona isn’t a part of the phoenix MAGA idiots.

  5. I might be able to stomach this if the whole bunch were put in cages like the kids Trump ripped from their parents and caged….this is NOT who we are….nor will EVER be.

  6. Perfect!! I see a lot of comments of people who are willing to sponsor an immigrant family in their own homes!! Yes you can do it, just be responsible for ALL their needs. If you have walls around your homes even better!

  7. The best way to make a rational decision on this matter, is to hear both sides of the argument, and then make an assessment.

  8. Kirmad, the Democratic party is in no position to call out Trump on the handling of children from south America, Children that are being brought into this country illegally. They should focus their attention on the American children that won’t ever have the privilege of being taken into federal custody, fed, clothed, provided with medical assistance, all because they’re an inconvenience, therefore their lives at birth are terminated.

  9. Ehud, obviously you haven’t bothered to do any research on your own, to confirm, or deny, the problems that exist on our southern border. There are always two sides to every story. Take the time to examine both sides before you reach a conclusion.

Younger illegal immigrants in Arizona make up a far larger percentage of the states prison inmates than their share of the population would suggest, according to a new analysis.
While illegal immigrants ages 18 to 35 a group immigration activists call Dreamers are about 2 percent of of the Arizona population, they are almost 8 percent of the prison population.
The over-representation by a factor of four shows that younger illegal immigrants in Arizona are far more likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens or legal immigrants of a similar age, says John Lott Jr., president of the Crime Prevention Research Center
