Last night’s Political Roundtable was another lively discussion of the Congressional District 8 special election between Republican Jesse Kelly and Democrat Ron Barber, the latest news on the presidential race in Arizona and the U.S. Senate race for the retiring Jon Kyl’s seat, the battle between the Rio Nuevo Board and the city of Tucson, and Ken Bennett’s flirtation with the birthers. Pima County Democratic Party chairman Jeff Rogers, Tucson Tea Party organizer Trent Humphries and former state lawmaker Pete Hershberger hash out the week gone by.

  1. Barber is a political non-entity, a left-wing hack, and is pro obama care who favors taking 500,000,000,000. dollars from medicare. Barber is an inexperienced shill.

  2. Kelly is indeed inexperienced, but to stop the Obama “loco”motive, what other option do we have. Vote conservative everytime!

  3. Kelly has experience working for daddy. Ron Barber has not been political for most of his career. He has, however, been a positive influence his entire work life.

    Did you see the televised debate, we don’t need a bully to get what he wants

  6. Did anyone notice the night of the debate, the pile of papers Ron Barber had on his Podium? Were these the question for the debate? NOTICE Charles Manolakis did not and was able to think on his feet. He follows the policies of Congresswoman Giffords and knows who he is going to vote for in the Presidential election. Charles Manolakis is YOUNGER and smarter than Ron Barber. Ron Barber is acting like he is in a daze…(puppet like). Voters truly need to consider CHARLES MANOLAKIS as a BETTER choice.

  7. There’s no way I can vote for someone with only a high school diploma–Jesse Kelly–who also wants to slash away at Medicare & Social Security. He’s a true Republican…fund the wealthy and chop up our safety net to those who are most in need. Barber is not only well-educated, but has experience in dealing with gov’t. He knows the daily ins-and-outs through first hand hard work. Who do you think paid for Kelly’s signs all over town? The people he will be beholden to if elected—and they just want to continue wasteful gov’t spending with their “take from the poor, give tax breaks and subsidies to the rich” mentality. From what I know of Kelly, when he loses he’ll just go back to TX again with his tail tucked between his legs. Talk about an opportunist!
