Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb announcing the program on PCSO’s YouTube channel.

On July 30, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb announced a new police program that will allow citizens the opportunity to become deputized after four hours of training.

According to the PCSO, the program “offers a training course designed to show residents the reality of Police Work.” Participants will learn the basics of “constitutional law, search and seizure, basic firearm safety, home safety and the use of deadly force” in four hours.

The program will require a minimal background check and may be offered to former felons.

“As Sheriff of Pinal County, I am given the authority to deputize civilians to assist in law enforcement. While we hope such an action is never required, we want to make sure those willing to step into the role are trained and ready,” Lamb said.

PCSO states that “while our deputies do everything they can to be available at a moment’s notice, in a hypothetical major emergency situation or time of wide-spread unrest, they may need assistance suppressing lawlessness and defending the county.”

  1. What f*cking hell is this? Using grossly under trained civilians as ARMED police?!
    This is horrifying.

  2. All participants receive a white pointed hoody upon completion of the intensive 4 hr training. Oh, and white Trump supporters only.

  3. This is the same idiot that refused to adhere to pandemic safe practices and got sick. His idea is flawed altogether and should never be allowed. Law enforcement should be left to those qualified to do so, which should disqualify that imbecile.

  4. We want law enforcement to have to undergo MORE training, not boiling it down into a session so short you would likely slept for a longer time the night before the class.

  5. ” …hypothetical major emergency situation…” AntiFa coming to town for a smash/grab/burn session?

  6. I think they are showing us what happens when you cut funding. The teachers do this all the time. Even the marching band at UA was on the chopping block one year. This might make us want to rethink our funding cuts. I still want real cops.

  7. Pinal County designates over 65% of their budget to “Public Safety”. This sheriff isn’t in want of money.

  8. All you haters might want to do a little homework about what a posee really is. I believe you have the wrong idea. This is something that is common in the South West and depending on how the election goes, you will be happy they are available. I am extremely impressed with our Sherriff Mark Lamb, he is a Patriot and a badass. I am glad he is here.
