Earlier today, The Range reported that Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller moved dollars from major streets that the Pima County Transportation Department recommended be fixed to her own neighborhood.
But now the Weekly has learned that the road project also benefited her political allies and contributors. Miller collected $1,080 from residents along Oasis Road.
Among them: Sherese Steffens, a longtime Miller pal who helped her form the Pima County Tea Party Patriots. Steffens was one of Miller’s first contributors, giving her $100 Sept. 1, 2011, as Miller began fundraising for her campaign.
Steffens and her husband, Randy Steffens, ultimately gave Miller a total of $630 for her 2012 campaign.
Another contributor, Sherry Potter, gave Miller’s 2012 campaign $250 on Nov. 11, 2011, and a third, Linda Jimenez, gave Miller a total of $200 for the 2012 campaign in two separate occasion in May and September of 2012. Potter managed Republican Tanner Bell’s unsuccessful 2012 campaign against Pima County Supervisor Sharon Bronson.
Miller’s fellow supervisors moved the remainder of the road repair money from District 1 to District 4 earlier this week, prompting her to complain that they were retaliating against her for her ongoing criticism of them.
Miller did not return a phone call from the Weekly regarding her push to rearrange transportation projects in her district.

Since you used my name in your article, I’ll comment. It just so happens that Oasis Road in front of my house, Steffens and Jimenez’s didn’t get paved. It was conveniently stopped just before the driveway to Steffens and Jimenez’s house. So maybe you should get your facts straight before you print a hit piece. And in case you also didn’t check out the facts, we pay pima county property taxes and a lot of them. Was stopping the paving before our houses political retribution for our support of Ally? Looks that way doesn’t it.
How does this story jive with the previous report of retaliation for Ally’s criticism of the county?

If there was no wrong doing on the county’s part, why was PIMA County Transportation out this morning to measured the potholes/bad asphalt?
The section of road in question was annexed by Marana last year. It was noot Pima County’s road to pave.
So this PROVES Pima County’s mis-management, and the inability of the two jurisdictions to work together to take care of a road that is going to have thousands more road trips due to the two new malls and housing that Marana is approving right now. Why would Pima County pave this road instead of making Marana pave it since they will be getting the impact fees for all of these 6000 sq ft lots’ rooftops. So here is the mis-management by PIMA COUNTY!!!!! Why was there not an agreement with Marana? Oh yeah that’s right, because both jurisdictions are self serving children, unable to manage a project or the growth and work together for taxpayer. So mis-management fom PIMA COUNTY and mis-management from MARANA. Neither one doing their jobs!

Now that is has been established that the unimproved portion of Oasis is located in the Marana jurisdiction and not Pima County’s, I think “SLC”, “Jerry Ramos”, “Sick of Stupid” et. al. can relax now with the “political retribution ” argument and go right back to the old hoo-ha, song and dance standby- ”mismanagement, incompetence, self-serving”. And while you’re at it, why not drag the evil-doers at the city of Marana down in the cesspool with you? What a bunch of ridiculous drama queens you people are! LOL!
I propose to all residents of District 1 that we throw an “Oasis Road Parade” sometime in mid-March. Just because we you need to continue to dodge potholes on River and Thornydale for another year and you don’t live within 10 miles of Oasis, you should still make the effort to drive out here. Let’s all show Ally that we appreciate her special brand of insulting, shrill, uncompromising, confrontational, irrational governing and managing that has isolated her from all but the dullest, most obtuse supporters, local pols and hard right radio talk show hosts.
