With the first results drawn from early ballots posted, it appears that Pima County voters are unwilling to spend more money on roads. Prop 463, which would allow the county to borrow $430 million for road bonds is failing, 56 percent to 44 percent.
Meanwhile, Tucson voters are supporting a $225 million bond package for parks, 55 percent to 45 percent.
Prop 408, which would move the city of Tucson’s elections to even years in line with presidential and midterms elections, is being rejected by 56 percent of the voters.
Pima County officials still need to count the ballots cast at polling places today, as well as early ballots that arrived in recent days or were dropped off at polling places and remain to be processed.

Fortunately, led by stalwart Pima County Supervisor Ally Miller, the forces against passage of the Pima County road bonds have succeeded! Now, all those who voted against the road bonds will quit bellyaching about the condition of the roads in Pima County, and will instead organize giant cookie sales to pay for road construction and maintenance!
Look for it!
Sorry but that is not what I will do. I will demand accountability from the PC Supervisors regarding Huckleberry expenditures and diversion of tax dollars for other less important purposes.
You do not buy alcohol for an alcoholic. Especially one that lies to you.
Funny everyone talks about how road funds have been siphoned off but can never provide a concrete example (no pun intended). We have a truth in bonding ordinance and a hostile Republican state AG. How Pima County could somehow siphon off half a billion dollars in road funds defies the imagination.
Looks like I will have to take the money earmarked for my share of bond payments and buy new struts on my vehicles. Pima County is by far the most backward urban county in Arizona. Why not just change all the residential streets back to dirt since we don’t want to pony up for asphalt?
I didn’t read any reference to the siphoned funds as bond money. How road repairs do not get priority in the budget is beyond me.
