The Pima County Health Department just announced Pima County’s first presumptive case of COVID-19 in a resident who recently returned from travel in an area with community spread of the virus.
According to PCHD, the individual lives in unincorporated Pima County and is not severely ill. They are currently recovering at home in isolation and have been fully cooperative with public health monitoring. Arizona Department of Health Services and PCHD are currently investigating any close contacts that may have been exposed while the person was infectious.
“We have been preparing for this for several weeks. We are not recommending closing schools or canceling events,” said Dr. Bob England, Director PCHD. “We know that most people who have gotten COVID-19 have mild symptoms and we ask that you stay home if you are sick. Those most at risk for developing severe complications from COVID-19 are older adults and those with existing chronic health conditions.”
For more information on the disease, and how to best protect yourself, Pima County has established the website pima.gov/covid19

#We’reAllGonnaDie
Why is “presumptive” in quotes? Presumptive means a preliminary test was positive. A further test, which takes a longer time and likely is more costly, will be needed to confirm the first test. The next question should be: what is the percentage of presumptive tests that are confirmed by later tests?
I need new spectacles to sort through all the speculation. Spectacular!
I know it’s not practical to give the name of the infected person but Pima County could at least tell us which area of Tucson the person lives so we could be more prepared and not go into public areas where we might get infected. The SECRECY around this virus is no different than living in a Communist country where they try to keep everything a secret until everyone is affected. American governing bodies are totally irresponsible and stupid.
Eye Curumba, Spec so!
The infected person lives with 25 miles of I 10. take any precautions that you can to stay away from the area.
China stopped the virus cold.
In a country in with 1.4 billion people exposed to the virus, they posted less than 82,000 infections for four days in a row.
Taiwan has been below 50 infections for five days in a row.
Both China and Taiwan masked up their entire populations.
Our CDC, the Center for “Disease Control” is fighting hard against masks based on a flawed theoretical concept as to the protectiveness of the mask.
Their theoretical objections:
1. The mask becomes saturated with breath moisture and the virus migrates through
2. The virus somehow separates from its sneeze or cough droplet and sails through a mask filtering 0.3 microns
3. We don’t have the ability to watch a 3 minute youtube to seal the mask to our face
4. They believe we can’t follow instructions to purchase an N95 filtering mask (N95) and will mistakenly purchase a breathe around mask.
China and Taiwan tell us that while masks may not stop 100% of all theoretical infections, they do stop 100% of all actual infections when combined with hand washing and precautions not to touch one’s face.
We are losing time. CDC is intentionally limiting production in the U.S and has no plans to encourage us to wear masks.
The (CDC 15,000 employees, average compensation $123,000 per year, spending $8 billion per year, couldn’t get a $20 million test out the door) are intentionally creating a medical and social culture hostile to allowing us to wear masks.
The CDC represents a grave mortal threat to our physical and economic health by telling people not to save millions of lives by wearing an N95 mask.
A well-fitted N95 mask filters out 0.3 microns, proven 100% protection against Covid-19 when also washing hands and not touching your face.
We have thousands of companies capable of producing thousands of masks per day if given approved designs and a contract. We could all chose to mask up in less than two months.
