Public Policy Polling is out with a new survey of Arizona voters that shows the U.S. Senate race between Republican Congressman Jeff Flake and Democrat Richard Carmona is a dead heat.

The survey of 993 likely voters, taken Sept. 7-9, show that 44 percent of voters support Flake, while 43 percent support Carmona.

The survey also shows Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney with the support of 53 percent of voters, while 44 percent support President Barack Obama.

We’ll have reaction and analysis later, but in the meantime, you can check out the survey here: arizonaresultsivr2.pdf.

  1. Ah, yes, another instance of “journalism by poll” along with the stay-tuned teasing sweetener “We’ll have reaction and analysis later…” yep, yep, yep…

  2. Wait… U.S. Senate? As in, the race that Kyl is leaving? Arizona’d have a split vote in the Senate?

That’s going to take a minute to sink in.

  3. What concerns me is this poll is by a group that supports Carmona. How can that not be biased? I’ll wait for the election to see who really wins.

  4. GOP time to watch SB 1070 come home to bite you. The scapegoats are going to fix your wagons. Are you watching the voter registration rolls in Arizona?
