A new cupcake store called Sweet Things Cupcake Shoppe will open soon at the Foothills Mall. The menu is posted at the shop’s website, which is already up and running. The store’s Facebook page says the opening will happen this summer.

It wasn’t long ago that Tucson didn’t have a single store solely dedicated to cupcakes, at least that we know of. When Sweet Things Cupcake Shoppe opens, we’ll have four or so—and all of those opened in the last year.

First things first, the Tucson Weekly’s Adam Borowitz seems to endorse…

Next, green eggs and ham, Tucson Weekly?

  2. My husband came home with 4 of their cupcakes to try. We were very disappointed and won’t be going back. First we tried the Mika’s Mochas that was suppose to be a chocolate espresso with mocha buttercream frosting but it didn’t have much of a coffee flavor to it at all. Next was the Preston’s Panda, a chocolate creme filled with ganache, there was barely any creme filling in it, maybe a quarter of a teaspoon. Third there was the Cami’s Confetti, a french vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting. It did have a strong vanilla flavor but nothing that would inspire me to buy it again. And last but not least was the Crisp’s Coconut, a vanilla cupcake with coconut and a coconut icing…again, it was OK but not worth the $2.99 we paid for it. The cupcakes were moist and fresh but all in all, nothing worth the price we paid.
