The Tucson Weekly has *ahem* 69 Myspace friends as of this writing. If you’re on Myspace, and you want to be a friend, send a request!

Also, if you want to be one of our Top Friends and/or be included on our photo page, send us a picture of you reading the Weekly. Even better, if you’re traveling, send us a pic of you reading the Weekly at a landmark.

Spiffy, eh?

  1. Well, i am one of these black kids who is not connected to this my place circle. Everyone is all like… “dude hit me up on my space! Check out my profile! Listen to the music that best describes me! Share these sexy and intimate pictures with the world… show those child molesters whose boss! Speaking of it, if that old guy from CNN jumped out of a closet while you were trying to get some underage coochie wouldn’t you kick his ass? He all like ” Im john king from CNN, lets talk about this 10 year old boy you were here to meet.” Other dudes all shocked like “I dont know what your talking about, Im here to check on him. He said his parents are out of town and he’s alone with cable!” Kings all like ” Do you post as
`fun_boy2008?` and send these pictures of you exposing yourself to lil jonnie?” So then he freaks out jumps out a window and sprints to his car as like 15 swat cars and cops just beat his ass and arrest him. all he had to do was stay off that damn my place, space whatever. Its like 14 year old girls pretending to be 17 and acting bisexual so guys get intrested checking out the profile thinking there might be chick on chick pics… you know? its crap. Its NEVER chick on chick pics… (joking) im not some wierd ass guy doing crazy shit on the inter….. Bye.

  2. I can understand the above comments but I feel strongly that regardless if you choose to be on MySpace, people should not be interested in the kiddies in the first place. However, Chadd is also right that there are a lot of teenagers who post too much about themselves and make mistakes, especially in today’s online world where information is easy to gather and abuse for inappropriate gains. Anonymity has its positives.

  3. Thanks Mike … Its nice to know that I wasn’t just ranting out of my ass earlier. Although I was, I do feel kids should have age limits to certain sites and be blocked from social chatting places on line. But hey, if you cant pretend to be a 13 year old girl or boy with naked pictures of someone else’s kids picture on some random site in America, Then I’d rather be Asian. (Plus they got electronics markets bleeding dry) Hiiiya!!!

Um, I have nothing for this one.

However, in defense of MySpace, I think most people social network for the sake of having an “online umbilical chord” to the lives of their friends, if that makes sense. You can look at your MySpace and say, “oh look at all the friends I have” and write messages to them, etc. etc. Same with Facebook, the enemy of college productivity nationwide.
