Republicans who cast Arizona’s official electoral votes for Mitt Romney descended into the birther conspiracy again today
AP reports:
The state Republican Party chairman and two other Electoral College members spoke up during the ceremony to voice doubts about Obama’s eligibility as a native-born U.S. citizen.
“I’m disappointed that the other candidate, Barack Obama, has not been properly vetted as a legitimate candidate for president,” said Don Ascoli, a party leader from Gila County.
“I hope our Congress will formally investigate the issue that has been brought to our attention and even investigated by our own sheriff, Joe Arpaio,” he said.
Hawaii officials have certified that President Obama was born in that state.
State Republican party chairman Tom Morrissey also questioned the president’s birth certificate.

Delusional.
1. Obama’s father was a Fulbright scholar, and his scholarship was at the University of Hawaii. Fact.
2. Obama’s mother attended the University of Hawaii. Fact.
3. Obama’s father married Obama’s mother. Fact.
4. Obama’s mother became pregnant in Hawaii. Fact.
Supposition: It’s 1961: Obama’s mother flew to San Francisco, took a second flight to New York City, took a third flight to London, took a fourth flight to Cairo, and then took a fifth flight to Kenya, so that her son would NOT be born in the United States.
Really smart of Obama’s campaign in Denver to help fuel the “birther conspiracy”:
“Let’s face it, a mixed kid from Hawaii born to a single mom is not likely to become President of the United States. But in America it can happen because of education, because somebody gave me opportunity.”

This text contradicts both biographies.
Maybe you can call it a typo!
By the way, wasn’t there a Federal civil rights investigation against Arpaio? Wasn’t this when Arpaio went full “birther”?
The Republican Party is going to make and even bigger joke of Arizona, than Jan Brewer or Joe Arpeo could do as a duet.
It’s time for some reality in politics people.
You have a bunch of disillusioned old men running the Republican Party in Arizona, who should be under psychiatric care.
They don’t even have the sense to realize what fools they are making of themselves.
The stupidity of AZ politicians is unmatched anywhere!
There are some people in Arizona who are downright hopelessly deluded and will be that way for the rest of their lives. John McCain is one of those that comes to mind along with Don Ascoli
and Tom Morrissey
Hmmmmm? I know some Republicans who are smart, so I know it is not a pre-requuisite that one must be incapable of rational thought to be a party member. However, it does seem that it does help if one wants to rise in the ranks. That they felt compelled to open their mouths at all on the topic when they were not voting for Obama means they are actually clueless enough to believe that their words will carry some weight. In fact those words carry as much weight as the air between their ears.
