If you’re a Tucson voter, you should have already received a ballot for this year’s City Council elections. In an ongoing effort to let you know who these candidates are, the Weekly co-sponsored a candidate forum with the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce last week. Access Tucson was on the scene to record the whole thing, which you can watch above. The candidates talked about relations between the biz community and the city, the future of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, the impact of SB 1070, pension reform, and those darn cameras that bust speeders and people who run red lights. (More on that in this week’s print edition.)

Hey Richard and Karin what about Sam’s Club on the south side, lost revenue when you chase functions away from TCC, terrible roads all over town, the boondoggle called the modern streetcar… I have seen nothing going on in Karen”s ward. There are other places besides Mexico to trade with and other tourist form other states that comes into Arizona. Unless they come into Arizona or any other state from Mexico legally I would not call them tourist.
Karin and Richard quit cutting funds to the police and fire there are other places that can be cut. There was a shooting in Karin’s ward a few days ago possibly gang related…we need more police.
Money wasted on the “art” that is all over town could have been put to better use like road repairs.

Does the City screwing up the deal when their Real Estate Wiz, Lou Ginsburg, didn’t file the deed, which screwed up the Sam’s Club matter? Oh wait, no!
A Walmart, Costco and Curacao built on the south side in Ward 5, but wait, you couldn’t acknowledge it since it is further south than the foothills.
$20 million spent on road work now and $100 million over the next five years.
What other places Train than Mexico?
Police and fire have had no lay offs.
