The Pima County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Monday morning for allegedly damaging and stealing water tanks meant for migrants.
Michael Lewis Arthur Meyer, the 40-year-old founder of the armed, vigilante group Veterans on Patrol, will faceย two felony counts of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal damage.
Meyer has a history of tampering with water tanks placed in the desert by humanitarian groups and posted multiple videos of himself emptying tanks several times last year.
PCSD Public Information Officerย James Allerton said the department received several reports of damage and/or theft of water barrels on private properties in the Three Points and Arivacaย areas.
An incident on July 12 where several water barrels on private property were damaged and or taken prompted an investigation.
On Monday morning, around 10 a.m., deputies responded to a report of suspicious individuals in the desert in the Three Points area where they made contact with Meyer. He was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail where he was held on a $4,450 bond.
Meyer made headlines last year when he started a conspiracy theory that a homeless campย near Interstate 19 and West Valencia Road was the site of aย pedophilia and human trafficking ring with global reach. Police investigated and found no evidence that the site was used for such a purpose.
Meyer was also arrested in July and December last year.ย

excellent use of that comma. I had to stop and think about it for a minute.
And fk that guy, by the way.
Aiding illegal activities is somehow not a crime, but thwarting it is. It’s an upside down world we live in.
Bslap’s ignorance is on display again. For the umpteenth time, undocumented immigration is NOT a criminal activity, which is why it’s handled as a civil matter in immigration courts.
Saving people’s lives is not a criminal matter, either, regardless of whether those lives belong to brown people that bslap loves to hate on.
Stealing and destroying other people’s property is without question a criminal matter. Moreover, destroying water tanks that are proven to save people’s lives is a particularly heinous crime, and a clear indication that this guy is a dangerous lunatic who should be locked ASAP before he hurts somebody.
Whenever anything else is left in the desert they charge the person with littering? Once it is dropped there who owns it? Or is it the landowners responsibility to clean up the apparatus? I am making the assumption that the landowner was not contacted in advance of dropping the water tanks there, so (s)he is forced to live with the consequences that it brings about. Once again the citizens of our country get less than nothing for this whole mess. Why elect people that don’t represent us?
Francois? Nyet! If you voted in the elections and your candidate did not win, that is what an election is all about. People speak their choice at the ballot box. If your elected official does not represent you that may be because he/she speaks for all the rest who did elect them.

The only one whose ignorance is on display is skinnymans.
skinnyman, you might want to spend some time reading the U.S. code on illegal entry into the United States before calling other people ignorant.
8 U.S. Code 1325.Improper entry by alien:
(a)IMPROPER TIME OR PLACE; AVOIDANCE OF EXAMINATION OR INSPECTION; MISREPRESENTATION AND CONCEALMENT OF FACTS
Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.
Certainly one can be given a fine for entering the country illegally, but one can also be sentenced to prison.
You dont go to jail for a civil penalty. You go to jail for a criminal offense, thus illegal entry into the U.S. is a criminal activity.
Why do you think most of the Democratic candidates want to repeal U.S. Code 1325? Because the federal statute criminalizes illegal entry into the U.S.
You should apologize to bslap.
Michael Meyer deserves to go to jail for the maximum sentence the law mandates.
skinnyman where are you? Step up.
Hey Crasharooni…. shouldn’t you be prepping for your double felony case for aggravated assault on a prosecutor instead of pontificating your ignorant crazy on a 4 month old article?
