Live From Tucson, It’s a New ‘Weekly’!

1. I’m confused. Do you mean a ‘new weekly’ has come to town, as in Newspaper?

2. It’s a new “Weekly” – i.e. a new issue of everyone’s favourite alt. weekly has arrived online. As well, some locations around town already have paper copies, and others will receive paper copies tomorrow.

3. Actually, I heard that there is indeed another Weekly Tucson newspaper coming out anytime? I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I’ve heard from quite a few friends and colleagues. Anyone else here anything similar?

4. Steph: There was a group of folks going around and saying they were starting an “alternative monthly” in December, but that seems to have fallen apart. If anybody else knows anything … feel free to comment.

5. Side note on other media outlets: Look at what’s going on with the AZ Starnet blog. The admins are fighting a battle of people now responding not to the story but the fact comments are being removed left and right. It’s up to 150 straight removed comments.:

6. Hello Jimmy: FYI, I heard from my trusted colleague that they are indeed coming out and it’s apparently affiliated with NewsCorp? I was told that they brought some hotshot in from New York of something to test the waters and initially make the paper appear as though they’re very small or something. anyway, i’m not really familiar with all the lingo in your business, but that’s what i was told. hope that helps!
