Chinese Box is open and serving up fast and satisfying Mandarin and Cantonese food at 4299 W. Ina Road. The place is co-owned by Peter Fung of Mandarin Grill at 8300 N. Thornydale Road.

We tried the drive through and were in and out in about 15 minutes. The place is open until 3 a.m. on weekends, and they seem to already have it together, despite opening just a week ago. Ample portions, good prices, huge styrofoam cups of delicious wonton soup … without leaving the car? Works for me.

  1. I ordered the orange chicken it was the best because I eat at alot of chinese restaurants and this orange chicken is far better than panda express. good job chinese box!

  2. This is the best chinese food I have had in along time and they are open late. the staff was very friendly and helpful they also have the best crab crown and hot and sour soup when you have just got out of the bars. it about time tucson has a late night chinese restaurant!

  3. I ordered the sesame chicken one night from this place, and I literally live 5 minutes from it. However, I was on bed rest so i could not drive down to pick it up, so I chose the delivery method. An hour and a half later, I receive my food, and it is leaking out of the box all over the place. Needless to say, the service was horrible and I don’t care how good the food is, I will NEVER be ordering from there again, and I am sure it will soon go out of business with this kind of service. I will stick to Mayflower Chinese thank you!

  4. So I noticed that my previous comment had been deleted, which shows how biased the author of this article is, but I just tried my food and it was not good at all. The chicken was dry and full of breading and the rice was just mush. DO NOT EAT HERE! Horrible service and horrible food, save yourself from a waste of money please!

  5. I noticed my comment was deleted from here also, the food does sucks, it taste like a mexican made it and if you are comparing this place to Panda Express then the food really does sucks. Nothing authentic about beef broccoli, sweet and sour pork or cashew chicken. The owners here are the same people as Mandarin Grill..

  7. Over the year, Chinese Box has gotten way better. It had been the Mandarin grill on Cortaro and thornydale and also on ina and shannon. And yes they do have the same owners. The food is AMAZING. If you get a delivery and it is late it’s because there is normally only one delivery person and they have to make tons of deliveries, so you need to learn to be patient with them. The leaking out of the box part though, I cannot blame you for being angry about that. Chinese Box has made a huge improvement over the past year…and the customer service is even better now too! The food will not be perfect of course because the owner (who does all the cooking) is going through chemo and so is not available to cook all the time. He makes it the best, but the employees do try very hard to satisfy the customers.
