Southern Arizona Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-02) is among the members of Congress calling for President Donald Trump’s immediate removal from office following his incitement of a riot at the Capitol yesterday.
Kirkpatrick’s statement:
We have known for a long time that this President is unfit for office,. “What transpired yesterday at the Capitol, the seditionist uprising that we witnessed, was incited directly by the Commander-in-Chief — who has control over our nuclear arsenal. That is incredibly alarming. We must hold him accountable for his actions.
While I am still shocked and saddened by yesterday’s events, it’s become blatantly clear that President Trump should not and cannot remain in office. Whether it is invoking the 25th amendment, or beginning impeachment proceedings again, I fully support removing him from the White House. He is a threat to our democracy and to Americans at large. This president should also be disqualified from holding public office in the future.
We cannot trust President Trump to independently or smoothly complete a transition of power. Therefore, we must act swiftly to facilitate a transition ourselves, before the end of his term and as soon as possible.”

For over a year I have urged through letters to the editor of my daily newspaper, the Arizona Daily Star, that Donald J. Trump is unfit to serve as President of the Unite States. On Sunday I wrote again, citing the outrageous phone conversation he had with the Georgia Secretary of State in which he importuned the commission of acts which are felonies under state and federal law. In the conversation the President’s tone, manner and language evidenced his instability bordering on irrationality, reason enough for the Vice President and Cabinet to act in fulfillment of their oaths of office and to invoke the 25th Amendment. Then yesterday, the day Christian commemorate the is it of wise men to the infant Jesus, in an hourlong rant to loyal supporters, Mr. Trump incited them to riot, with the loss of four lives, significant property damage and the disruption of the ritual of counting the electoral votes which have denied hi reelection. He is a danger to the Republic, uninterested in governing rationally and utterly unfit to continue in authority until noon on January 20. They must take that authority away from his dangerous hands through invocation of the 25th Amendment. God bless the United States of America.
IMHO that would be a very stupid move. You will exalt him to martyrdom status and the 75 million that voted against our Democrat Party beliefs will turn them into 100 million “Americans First” contingent that will never be overcome.
Step back and take a deep breath. Acting irrational will only cause further problems.
Only then can we achieve our goals of giving America to the Communist Chinese.
