I am one of 9 billion who did not see this speech. Entertainment award shows are the absolute worst.
Grandstanding, Patting each other on the back, hobnobbing with vapid shells of humans, getting expensive perks for simply being there. All for being what amounts to dancing fools whose sole purpose is for our entertainment. nothing more. No thanks. If the crap ever really does hit the fan, they will be the first to go.
I agree with you, Chelo Grubb: Viola Davis’ speech was a very big deal.
Very powerful, and very important, indeed.
This is the dialogue our nation must have in order to shed the shackles of racism, whether it’s in a presidential debate, on a TV awards show, or at the kitchen table.
Everyone on those shows are out to toot their own horn. Who cares?
