  1. Yea Jon! Way to speak for the silent majority. Insurance should cover necessity items, not choice items and s*x is a choice, not my business how many times she does it or to whom but I don’t want my tax dollars going to paying for her to have free contraceptives based on her choices. I don’t want tax dollars going to my condom purchases or anyone’s Viagara medication.

  2. Fluke is such a staged leftist fraud. This isn’t spontaneous by any means. This is orchestrated and staged to give some false view of morality when it is nothing of the sort. I could think of plenty other expletives to call Ms.Fluke that would be more fitting. It isn’t misogyny, it is the disdain for the actions of this woman and her deceptions.

  3. she is a 30 year old activist who cares what anyone calls her she only went to georgtown after reading the policy and making it a mission to expose what she saw as a great injustice

  4. Really?? All the garbage going on in our city, money stolen and wasted by poliicians and city employees… of all the stupid anti-business policies, rules, regulations and fees/taxes… of all the things you could be covering/uncovering that are spinning our city/county down the crapper… you have to bury your head in facebook and report something that a local radio-show host said??

What a complete waste of time and salary for the Tucson Weekly… I remember when you used to be a good and relevent paper…

  5. Treating women’s health like an “optional” and secondary decision is misogynistic. It’s a MEDICATION and women pay for their insurance coverage to include MEDICATION. No one is asking the “taxpayers” to pay for it. It’s a matter of equal treatment. Jon is a pig.

  6. you knuckle dragging nitwits think you’re the silent majority? BWAHAHA!!! You certainly aren’t silent and you’re nowhere NEAR the majority- you just think you are because you spend all your time in your little RW circle jerk echo chamber. There was nothing staged about this, had Issa let her testify this would never had become an issue- had Limbaugh kept his big fat trap shut, this never would have become an issue. I love how you lemmings also keep trying to smear her by claiming now that she specifically went to Georgetown to cause trouble over this- it’s completely untrue and based upon one RW blog that (intentionally or not) misrepresented what she said and it then was rocketed around the RW blogosphere so all you parrots would have your daily talking points. She didn’t become active in this issue until AFTER her friend lost her ovary. But you clowns keep smearing her and keep attacking women everywhere with your misogyny and you’ll get to see who the REAL majority is next election. BTW, it’s closing in on 30 dropped sponsors now and several dropped radio stations- enjoy your time in the wilderness, neanderthals…

  7. At what age is she suppose to take responsibility for herself? There are places she can get birth control pills cheap. This thing about a friend of hers losing an ovary…what has that got to do with birth control? I lost an ovary and it had nothing to do with birth control issues. Birth control pills cause more problems for some women than some people think. Not my problem she wants to sleep around and well they do have names for females that sleep around. Back in the day they called them sluts, tramps, and a host of other names today I think one of the words is Ho. Myself I think it was pretty stupid of her to expect everyone to pay for her protection so she can “screw around” and not expect to be labeled.

  8. Now you should run an article on all the names above that a few (like Pete) called Jon. Seems Tucson Weekly has nothing better to do with their time.

  9. Insurance is not for medical necessities, it is POOLED coverage to pay for healthcare. Contraception as family planning is preventative healthcare.

I don’t want to pay for other’s lifestyle choices such as Rush’s Viagra, penile pump, oxycontin rehab or for his bypass when his empty heart finally fails, but if we share insurance companies I am going to have to.

Did you bashers even listen to or watch her testimony? She never once talked about a bunch of horny co-eds needing lots of sex. Rush’s voyeuristic porno hate filled vitriol insulted all women, not just SF, but YOUR mother, sisters, wives, girlfriends, AND daughters who have, are presently or willing the future use contraception.

And LMAO – she ONLY studied law at Georgetown in order to speak against GOP’s intent to control women’s reproductive rights? Are you kidding me? That is almost as good as Obama being raised from an infant with deceptive paperwork to overthrow the US government.

Those of you defending Rush need to ask yourselves why YOU want to oppress and control women.

  10. Tina, I didn’t say a word about Jon Justice, I was referring to the fools commenting on this thread- please try to keep up. And I love your selective outrage, pretty ironic considering the subject matter. Rush Limbaugh spends three days relentlessly bashing some poor woman, calling her all sorts of vile names and telling vicious lies about her- and not a peep out of you. Jon Justice decides to pile on and smear her some more and it’s crickets from you. In fact, the jackals in this thread all thought they’d jump in and repeat the nasty lies and character assassination and not a word from you. Yet I give them the smallest taste of their own medicine and reply in kind and suddenly you get a case of the vapors and start whining about the tone of the conversation. Quite typical, actually- the only thing you clowns do better than your world class hypocrisy is play the victim the moment you’re subjected to anything remotely close to the kind of vitriol your heroes dish out on a daily basis

  11. Pete… Rush has a right to his own opinion. You do not know me so you do not know what comments I have made regarding his “name calling” on other sites or my own for that matter. Don’t bother responding, as I have nothing more to say to you. You are not worth my time 🙂

  12. The other unmentioned aspect of Limbaugh’s attack on taxpayer-supported contraception (which ironically, did not apply to Sandra Fluke) is that hundreds of thousands of women (low estimate) receive taxpayer supported contraceptives through Tricare, the health insurance plan provided to military personnel and their dependents. By Limbaugh’s definition, all of them are sluts and prostitutes, and he wants them to provide him with their sex tapes for his pleasure.

  13. Rush is entitled to his opinion and it is up to us to evaluate it to see if it is relavent. I discovered long ago that he is an opinionated tool and does not speak for the majority of any group, just himself, and I stopped listening to him many years ago, just as most thinking folks have. As far as mandated free health care for any specific group, it is wrong. Women are to get free birth control pills, when are men going to get free condoms? We all have to pay for some form of health care, even those of us who were promised it free for life. That promise and contract went the way of the dinosaur.

  14. No Jon. This issue is not about birth control – it is about mouth and thought control. This is what the issue is. It is about the personal attack used to drive his wacky point. How’d that work for you, Pappa Rush?

  15. After suffering through emergency surgery for an ektopic pregnancy the Doctor recommended that my wife use birth control as the likelyhood of another ektopic pregnancy was high, but since the Doctor worked for St. Mary’s Hospital he could not prescribe them. My wife also worked for St’ Mary’s at the time so her insurance would not pay for it. St’ Mary’s hospital would rather have my wife die than allow her to use birth control. Needless to say she no longer works at St. Mary’s and I always go out of my way to tell people not to go there or any other Catholic Hospital for medical care..!!!

  16. When are people going to be responsible for themselves and not depend on other people to provide birth control for them? Just because it is provided for free so it can prevent females from getting pregnant that doesn’t mean they will use it. There are some out there that will not use protection because they want that welfare check. The more kids they have the more money they get. Trust me I am not one of them but you all know as well as I do they are out there playing the system.

  17. There are “Mini Limbaughs” in virtually every radio market in the U.S.

Plying the brain dead with red meat propaganda has been a Republican business model for decades. Our public airwaves are thoroughly owned by these troglodytes. It’s amusing to watch them implode and disintegrate this way, like a bunch of little Breitbarts.

  18. There is no doubt that Justice is a Rush wannabe. When i’ve forced myself to listen to him for a while, it’s clear that he believes he is a funny, original guy – but he’s actually a low class talking head spewing out the same old talking points he heard from the big guys. And of course neither Rush or Justice have the intelligence to actually read and learn about the facts here. They only want to try and blame Pres Obama for every dang thing they can. Sick of them both. People on the airwaves should have to pass an IQ test before they are given an open mic.

  19. Can’t believe that Justice has any followers, but I’m guessing the ones he has, turn directly to Rush when the JJ show ends. Whenever I hear him, all he’s doing is running down the same story for days on end…OR reading from the newspaper, which he claims to hate. Guess he doesn’t have anything original to say on his own.
Class? Ha. What a joke to even beging to think he knows what that is.
Crass? Yes. always. And he seems to be proud of it.

  20. Isn’t Jon Justice just a jerk anyway? THese remarks are typical of a guy who calls everyone who disagrees with him an “idiot” and who thinks NASCAR is a sport.

  21. So now JJ is trashing the Tucson Weekly on his FB page…but before, he was bragging when he won the “best of” from Tucson Weekly..so which is it, JJ???
Just like his buddy Antenori who hates the ADS and complains about it in public every chance he could, but took advantage of their free public forum last wk and then tweeted about how wonderful it was.
both are loud mouthed hypocrites with no respect for anyone with a slightly diffrering view or opinion.
they both make me sick…let’s hope the left prevails and shuts them both up.

  22. trainmanswife;all you have to print in a lib rag is”PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY” and you get fifteen progressives tapping the thumbs down sign…….

  23. slut, harlot, prostitute, slattern etc…. Women have been seriously vilified for their”wanton”ways. men are called studs. when everyman pays child support for the children they father then there will be some equality in this world. Only small men, cruel men and weak men attack and bully women.

  24. The lie that keeps getting repeated is that taxpayers are paying for contraception. In the case of Ms. Fluke and Georgetown, they are not. In cases where the government and taxpayers are involved, it represents a small fraction of overall healthcare cost, and is money well spent.

I really don’t get the right wing’s almost superstitious fear of women. I suspect it has something to do with some twisted interpretation of original sin, combined with a serious inferiority complex on their part.

Calm down guys. Sometimes an apple is just an apple.

  25. Here is another example of GOP hypocrisy – the same people crying about overreaching government & that Obamacare comes between a patient & doctor. All they really care about is oppressing women & CONTROLLING reproductive rights. If Rush had his way he’d had video of conception & GOP will stay in our uteruses through delivery. This DANGEROUS bill passed AZ Senate THIS week!

  26. My math skills are only public school level, but I think I’d rather pay for a year of birth control than a baby a year.

  27. @trainmanswife – you are seriously confused about both the birth control issue in question and personal responsibility. Personal responsibility in modern times would be taking responsibility for sexual activity by procuring some method of birth control, if one did not want children. Are you suggesting that women create and use their own methods of birth control instead of using medical proven safe methods? I hear the Egyptians used crocodile dung . . .

The Affordable Health Care Act, or whatever it’s called, requires insurance companies to provide ALL preventative health care with NO CO-PAY. That is it. The $5 to $15 dollars that most insurance companies require patients to pay for an office visit is what is in question, but only when a woman visits the doctor to receive contraceptives. I haven’t heard any intelligent discussion on the topic; I’m not sure about the small amount that patients have to pay for prescriptions, also called a co-pay sometimes.

Do you really think the small amounts of money in question cover the full cost of the office visit, tests and prescription? If you have health insurance, you already are subsidizing others. That’s how insurance works – premiums are determined for a risk pool. Some people will never spend anywhere close to what they’ve paid in, some will easily exceed the total they’ve paid in and most will fall in the range between the two.

If you aren’t interested in paying for women’s contraception, then you need to drop your health insurance and just pay out of pocket when you need to see a doctor. That is the only way to avoid having to pay for others’ health too. Good luck with that – I hope you have a few hundred thousands of dollars in savings to cover that by-pass operation, pregnancy, knee surgery, appendectomy, etc, etc.
