The Classical, a sports site seemingly designed to make you feel simultaneously uncool and stupid (strangely, I sort of mean that as a compliment), has determined that this week is Kenny Lofton Week, for reasons I can’t quite discern. However, as Mr. Lofton is a former Wildcat, PCL-championship winning Tucson Toro and a member of the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame (although not a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame quite yet, since the institution didn’t manage to elect anyone this year; Lofton received 18 votes), I guess it makes sense that someone would honor the guy. Of particular interest to Tucsonans, Adam Doster’s piece on Lofton’s “Wild About the Cats” years.

The editor of the Tucson Weekly. I have no idea how I got here.

  1. Kenny was the best outfielder in the American League for a decade and a damn good guard for Lute. Salud!

  2. Is he going to do encore of the Lofton flop? Just kidding. Loved watching him. But really will he do one?
