With 4/20 on the horizon, it’s once again time to crown new winners in the Weekly’s fourth annual Cannabis Bowl! As in previous years, we are asking readers to let us know their favorite dispensaries, budtenders, concentrates, edibles and more.
Deadline to cast a ballot is midnight Sunday, March 17.
A few ground rules:
• In the Best Budtender category, please include the name of your favorite budtender as well as the name of the dispensaries where they tend bud.
• When voting for best concentrates and edibles, please sure to name a brand and not a strain.
• We have a new essay question: Tell us your favorite strains of flower in 100 words or less! If we really like your essay, we’ll run it in our 4/20 edition.
• You can only vote once—and we can catch multiple votes from the same IP address, so don’t bother trying. Stuff bowls, not ballots!

The Tucson Weekly’s advocacy for the use of Marijuana is Completely Irresponsible; a Disregard for the Health and Safety of the Community!!
The “Medical Marijuana” of today is NOT like the Marijuana used in the 70’s and 80’s. Through Artificial Selection Experiments, strains of Marijuana have been developed by the Marijuana Drug Industry that substantially increase the potency of the Drug. As such, its’ use poses serious potential consequences.
Marijuana of today is a Very Potent and Dangerous Drug!!!
“Marijuana pipe found in car of driver charged in crash that killed Ann Day”; Carmen Duarte Arizona Daily Star May 12, 2016.
“Fatal road crashes involving marijuana double after state legalizes drug”: Science News, May 10, 2016. Source: AAA
Summary: “Fatal crashes involving drivers who recently used marijuana doubled in Washington after the state legalized the drug, according to the latest research. New research also shows that legal limits for marijuana and driving are arbitrary and unsupported by science, which could result in unsafe motorists going free and others being wrongfully convicted for impaired driving. Washington was one of the first two states to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, and these findings raise serious concerns about drug-impaired driving with at least 20 states considering marijuana legalization this year.”
Marijuana use for Medical purpose should be supported by Scientific evidence, including Clinical Trials, and regulated by the FDA; closely monitored by the tending Physician and State Department of Health. Medical Marijuana should be available by Prescription only (in a Pharmacy) issued by a Licensed Physician.
Congress should amend the Controlled Substances Act of 1970: Controlled Substances Act (CSA) (21 U.S.C. 812) making Marijuana available for Medical Treatment.
The major consumers of this Drug, if legalized for so-called recreational purposes, will be the younger generation; destroying the very fabric/future of our Democracy.
This Drug should NOT be legalized for recreational purposes!!!
Lighten up Francis.
Francis your comments are not only wrong but are full of ignorance and biases. Sorry, but I worked healthcare for 20 years at a level 1 trauma hospital and Alcohol alone has caused more deaths then MMJ ever will.
If Francis is right we have a national emergency at the border. Build the wall. Stop the stall.
