  1. These legislators have no respect for the citizens of this state who voted for this process. They thumb their nose at the people with a childish “my way or the highway” attitude. They should all be recalled or, at least, voted out in 2012.

  2. The citizen voted for an INDEPENDENT commission, not a faux-interdependent wife of a Democratic strategist who has donated to Democratic candidates and organizations in the past. Mathis is an embaressment to the political process, and deserves a speedy removal from the commission.

And I am sick of all these talk of recalls, from either party. If we are going to just recall politicians after one year in office, why do we even have terms? Politicians from either party will be afraid to address and vote on major issues out of the fear they will be recalled without ample time to prepare their campaigns.

  3. The two Democrats and the two Republicans CHOSE the Independent member, per the legislation passed by the voters of this state. This is just another example of the powers-that-be ignoring the will of the voters, just as they’re doing with the medical marijuana initiative. AZ has a strong process so that legislators should NOT be able to override us; we voted for this construction of the commission because we didn’t trust the politicians to be fair in the redistricting process, and they are once again showing us why they cannot be trusted. AZ always seems to have plenty of money to spend on attorneys and lawsuits and no money for education or health care. Shame!
