Not so much in our comment section (although someone did chime in that we lived in “fantasy land”), but nearly every media outlet that covered J.T. Ready’s cowardly, despicable end of his own life and three others on Wednesday has a comment section that features a few of his defenders, claiming that Ready was actually the victim. Clearly, those people are far beyond the benefit of actual information, but the Arizona Republic ran a story late last night that paints a picture of an awful man, who should have been kept far away from weapons.

Several months ago, Ready delivered a crushing blow, splitting the family apart as domestic-violence offenders are known to do: He told Amber and Brittany they had to move out, and both girls left, Castle and other friends said.

“He was such a horrible person,” Castle said. “He was a scary person. He was short-tempered.”

Ready had a history of ugly relationships, according to court records and a woman who said she fled Arizona in fear of Ready in 2003.

Court records show that a Scottsdale woman filed an order of protection against Ready in 2009 and that Ready responded with his own protection order against her.

Regina Madrigal, 30, reported that she and Ready lived in the same Mesa Drive apartment complex and that Ready “became obsessed” with her. He would sneak up on her, call her, spy on her and tell her he knew the color of underwear she had on, Madrigal said.

“He was always telling me about plans for killing people,” she said. “He had lots of guns in the house. … He always believed the government was conspiring.”

The editor of the Tucson Weekly. I have no idea how I got here.

  1. No wasnt wondering. The only idiots who didnt know that are Pearce and Tea bagging republicans

  2. I’m waiting to see if one of the wingnuts tries to claim that they were all victims of a “Liberal Media Hit Squad.”

  3. Unfortunately he took so many innocents with him. The proper thing would have been to act like a man and make it a solo act. Far too many bullies and thugs in that loonie fringe group and yes they have made a statement the liberals killed him. Too many of the far left associate this wack job with the tea party and that is unfortunate and plays into the wacky right’s agenda. Keep calling names and using vague generalities that will put you in the same group as Ready. It is a time when the wacko far left and the wacko far right have met, is that a sign of the end?

  4. I agree with nam6870vet………..why destroy other lives, just do away with yourself and leave the innocents…………….

  5. Gee, but the Republicans love this guy, Brewer, Pierce and all the other radical Republicans. Now they want to distance themselves from him. They are all alike. Radical and extremeist. Its weird how they suddenly change their opinions of him. Who will be next from the Republicans thugs?

  6. Gee Steve,it might be an old guy from the weather underground or an occupy slob…..who knows????
