[Skip ahead to the two minute mark to see Romney’s moment of jackassery.]
I’m not particularly inclined to be a Mitt Romney fan, but I actually generally believed that he might be a decent human being, but with the series of stories coming out this week, plus with his generally petulant attitude, I’m starting to think he might be bad for the country and maybe just a bad person. Charles P. Pierce does a great job of thinking about what’s wrong with the guy who might be the next president:
If there’s one thing you can say about Romney in his career as a politician is that there is nobody who he doesn’t consider expendable, whether that is a staffer, a friend, an ally, or any particular group of constituents who presume to think that, just because they elected him, he owes them something. He is Nixon without the awesome, class-bred insecurities. Nixon knew when he was being vicious. He gloried in it. The White House tapes drip with his self-indulgent tough-guy crap through which you can see the quivering little grocer’s son. That insecurity may be the only thing that saved the Republic. Willard Romney never has known that insecurity for a day in his life. He is casually vicious and he doesn’t even recognize that he is.
To Willard Romney, voters vote for him because it is their job to vote for him, their part in the work of a righteous universe to give him whatever it is he wants.

Yikes. Could he have been that smarmy with a man? Sure looks like he was patronizing the little lady. Seriously, I’ve never seen that side of him before.
I believe that author, fictional historial views on Nixon. It would be nice if he acutally read history and learned it. Nixon was the first and only president to record his telephone conversations. Just like a open microphone president’s have thought they were in private conversations but others listening. Nixon’s Father was never a grocer, A orange farmer and retired as a railroad conductor. Just more fabrications
I don’t know what clip you were eatching Danny boy but I saw no smarmyness or jackassery at all unless it stems from obongo……this was a normal interview with the woman asking half a dozen social bulls*** issues that had nothing to do with why we would vote for him because of this rotten economy…..Dan,why don’t you just come out of the political closet and admit your going to vote for the african god obongo????…….
You’re kidding right? What I saw at the two minute mark was Romney get exasperated at the reporter for asking what I am sure was his opinion, questions that really didn’t matter in the grand scheme of this election. He feels what is upmost in peoples’ minds is whether or not he can get the economy back on track, not whether he supports medical marijuana laws or gay marraige. Both of those issues should be dealt with at the state level.
