Now I am hungry for fajitas.
Awesome! Unfortunately in Brazil if the husband had done the killing, he’s get off with a stern warning.
I love those crime magazines they have down in America Sur with all the gore & blood. I can still remember the first time I saw a severed human head in a bucket when I was a kid. Same story, taco vendor’s wife gets tire of the jerk and turned him into tacos. When “the man” finally caught on, bucket meat was all that was left. Head tacos anyone?
The accused, Timothy Wayne Shepherd, linked to in #3, might be able to beat a death sentence (reportedly he has confessed to the murder) rare in Texas (the pun so, so sorry), by pleading “Guilty, but insane.” Look for the defense to work the grilling of the corpse back into, to comingle, with the thing that’s relevant: the murder itself, by strangulation: the accused slips in and and out of knowing right from wrong. So the task for defense, when it comes to picking the plea that drives the sentencing process, will be managing the prima facie thing in such a way that…that…and it’s really hard in Texas, easier in other states.
It wasn’t the “southAmericans” I refer to, it was the “magazines”. You ever read Alarma? As far as I know that hasn’t been a gringo-American magazine trend, but I hope to be corrected and the web doesn’t count. A magazine full off crime scene photos. It’s a Mexican magazine, they cover Mexican crime (mostly) and that’s where I used to get occasional view it in Mexico. My abuelita was a big fan and I would often purchase the rag along with a Cauama and pack of Camels.
From Wiki:
¡Alarma! (Spanish for Alarm!) is a Mexican magazine that specializes in graphic pictures of deformed babies, obese people, traffic accidents, murder victims, etc as well as pictures of scantily clad women. The magazine was first published on April 17, 1963, and its success has spawned several competitors (including Alarde!, Enlace! and Poliester). It was censored briefly in 1986 and 1991. The magazine states it has a circulation of 15 million copies.
That’s right, 15 million!
dat “lurid genre” has a long history and it surivives all over place for a reason probably having to do with some people don’t have much going on right now.
But even dat 3rd world place there seems to be increasing evidence of difficulty with successful body disposal for all dem at intersection of crazy stupid. Think about it…all that stuff in media lately…they’ll get you…circumstantial can convict. Don’t figure on wiki helping any you with this (they not much to say):
Time for one dem late night infomercials???? You know, testimonials, private planes, operators standing by, DVDs and kits n stuff?
A little over a year ago there was a body dump in the alley behind my pad. Not directly behind, but behind the neighbors. I’d just smoked my morning blunt when “the man” comes a-callin’. A couple of teen-cops had gotten the duty of canvassing the hood, asking if anyone had heard or seen anything. I’d seen or heard nothing. “Well it happened right behind your house!” Responded teen-cop number one to my lack of information or concern.
Once the boys in blue resumed their investigation I gave the roach another try then stepped out back to assess the scene. The cops had both ends of the alley yellow-taped and about 20 feet from our fence was a dead guy. A fat Mexican dude, mid to late twenties, wearing a t-shirt and jeans and face down on the gravel. No signs of blood or gore of any kind. Not even worth a picture. The ghetto-birds were starting to gather so I got back to my morning. Just another body disposal in the city.

Well, it turns out it’s not just people down south who do that kind of thing. Happens in America, too.
