In January we wrote about Casino del Sol’s ridiculously bad decision to revamp its Cosmic Bingo event by, among other things, parting ways with fun and flirtatious drag queen MC Lucinda Holliday. The goal, casino officials said, was the revive a format that had gotten stale, which is hard to believe about something that involved a 6-foot-tall dude in a wig and dress holding a microphone with a fuzzy penis cover and encouraging grandmas to yell ‘ohhhhhh, sixty-nine!’
Well, looks like instead of reviving it with these changes, Casino del Sol killed one of its most fun and unique entertainment options.
An email sent out to Club Sol members today quietly noted that this Saturday will be the final session of Cosmic Bingo. No details were provided as to why it is ending — other than the obvious, that the new version sucked eggs — but the message did ask people to come out for ‘one last party.’
Thank you, no. I attended the first non-Lucinda Cosmic Bingo, and swore never to go again. Sounds like many other people followed suit, based on the still-coming-in posts to Lucinda’s Facebook page. That, more than anything, is probably why Cosmic Bingo will be no longer.

Lucinda was great. Only bingo experience I ever enjoyed. Espcecially when we screamed stupid bit@h in unison for someone calling bingo with out winning 🙂
I’m sad to see it end but I’m glad they finally realized their mistake.
I was dying to see the fuzzy penis…………..
Is your name really limbaugh or medved or levin or hannity…?
They announced it on Memorial Day. They said it “ran it’s course”. I was there too when they revamped Cosmic Bingo. From the change in pricing, the lowering the number of games, customers trying to have fun and being chastised for it, and overall non-professionalism on running the games, I am completely turned off from this form of Cosmic Bingo. Not to mention losing Lucinda. It is no surprise that they canned it. From what I’ve seen, the bingo hall has been pretty empty on Saturday nights. Yes, Cosmic Bingo need a tweak, but they went the wrong way and doomed themselves. I started going to Cosmic Bingo back in July of 2008 when it first started. Was going there regularly until January. Haven’t been back since.
