I am gay. I’m not claiming that I believe this, but I know that the answer from many would be, “How many addicts, or child abusers, liars, and thieves, or corrupt politicians does God have to create before we accept that He wants them around.”
steve Simon has renewed my faith in the State of Minnesota. maybe they can change their
slogan from land of 10,000 rehabs to the land of 10,000 gay marriages. would be a lot healthier and far more acceptable to me.
@kargelc: That would be arguing apples v. oranges. All of those things are chosen behaviors (except addiction but taking the first drink/toke/hit is a choice) and as Rep. Simon points out, the all the evidence indicates being gay is an inherent trait like blue eyes or height.
Lets look at the real reason gays want to be able to marry. They want to legitimize their sin. Just like other sins of abortion, sex outside of marriage, divorce, cursing, etc has become legitimized in our society gay sex wants to be legitimized. This is just a natural progression of our society becoming tollerant of other sins. If you read the bible, you will see that everyone has sinned and falled short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Biblically this means that it does not matter if you are gay or not, we are all sinners. The Bible also says that wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We all need Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It doesn’t matter if you are gay or not, we all need Jesus.
I am also gay and think that gay couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples have. As for all that clap-trap about, “all of us being sinners” and “falling short of the glory of god” is just a bunch of hooey from a by-gone era. I am atheist and do not agree with the bible saying that two people of the same sex having a relationship is, “wicked” and, “a sure way to Hell.” The bible is so over-rated! Live and let live is what I firmly believe. And can we legalize marijuana as well, already?
