As a person relatively new to the world of car loans and credit reports, I’ve recently experienced a lot of credit score related anxiety.

Looking into my credit and income history, I found some weird errors (apparently I was working in the construction industry five years after I was born), and apparently that’s pretty common.

In this week’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver and his team dive into the challenges these mistakes cause and launch a counter attack to remind credit agencies why reputation is important:

  1. Since you can get one free credit report from each agency, I check my credit report every 4 months. I did find errors in the past but they have all been resolved. You must stay vigilant!

  2. I’ve got a credit rating of Excellent – never having missed a payment since my bank-president-uncle told me, when I was a teenager, that my credit rating was as important as believing in Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

But what Chelo says is true. My excellent credit score declined a few points, apparently, after I cancelled a couple of credit cards – cards that I routinely paid in full each month.

Could it be that the rating services don’t much like that credit card companies never earn interest from any credit card I’ve ever used?

    (Was that a rhetorical question?)

  3. Are you looking for fast and effective credit hacks to boost your credit score and erase negative items from your record? Then I strongly recommend Metronet Credit Solution, they are fast, effective and legit. They came through for me when I thought all hope was lost.
