Happy 53rd birthday to the Disneyland Monorail, which was the first daily operating monorail system in the Western Hemisphere and the launch of the primary transportation for Americans today a future punchline on The Simpsons. I blame Nixon, who was on hand as vice president to dedicate the monorail, as seen in the video above.
