Today is Brazilian musician/social activist Caetano Veloso’s 70th birthday, and while I’m seething that The Awl beat me to the punch posting one of my favorite moments in film history — Veloso’s performance from the Pedro Almodovar film Talk to Her — but oh well, I’m sharing it again. Enjoy.

  1. AZ/DC: Well, _Talk to Her_ was included in Time Magazine’s 100 Greatest Movies of all time in 2005, so I guess it’s just me and nearly every important film critic that’s a fan of that particular film, but maybe you know better.

  2. Dan,
The fact that you agree with some of the most pretentious lot on this planet really doesn’t impress me. This is sleepy time cinema at it’s best. What I’m curious about is: What does TW’s resident critic “Grimmy” think about it? In all honesty, I tend to agree with a lot of his reviews.
