Congressman Raul Grijalva joins his co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, in praising President Barack Obama’s announcement that troops are coming home from Iraq by year’s end:

President Obama’s announcement is a victory for America and another monumental step toward the end of the disastrous foreign policy of the Bush era. We thank the president for fulfilling his promise to the American people to end this misguided war quickly and responsibly. For nearly a decade, Americans across the country spoke out against this war, and now we can turn the page on a troubled period in American history. This is a long overdue victory for not just the people of Iraq, but the progressive movement that consistently opposed this costly and unjustified war.

As the president honors his commitment to America’s voters, we must also honor our commitment to our veterans by ensuring that they and their families receive the full benefits they have earned. We owe them nothing less.

  1. Grijalva is such a toad, cant figure out how he got re elected. I guess when the education system is punished with freeloaders, then everybody gets a crappy education, and can only vote with their emotions instead of logic.

  2. Does anyone really care what Raul thinks?
A better fit for him would be to
    Run for President of Mexico.
    Seriously.
    No racial slam intended here.
He thinks of himself as a Mexican first anyway.
I can say this because I know.
Half of Mi Familia is from Mexico.
If you really want to do some good,
    Go there.
Go Raul, leave us in peace.

  3. What an embarrasment to southern Arizona! Made his money by duping the tax payers of Pima County (The Kino Property where T.E.P. park is located). This….”person” does indeed think of himself as a “Mexican” first for sure. He does however, want to make sure that his lipstick is very visable on Obeaners arse! What is more embarrasing, is that this “ultra” liberal rag caters to these brainless twits.

  4. And BTW, the 2011 withwrawal date was mandated by President George W. Bush, in 2008, before Mr. Obama took office. Do your research Mr. Grijalva!

  5. I am glad that this finally happened. As for anyone trying to give “credit” to dubya, that is just ignorance personified.

As far a ol Raul, I am with Rod on that. Adios muchacho

  6. Officials arrest 70 in major Arizona drug bust, (Reuters) – Law enforcement officials in Arizona seized thousands of pounds of narcotics and arrested at least 70 suspected drug smugglers with apparent ties to a violent drug cartel in Mexico, an official involved with the investigation in the U.S. Southwest told Reuters on Sunday. An unamed Southern Arizona democrat congressman has been connected with recieving “donations” from the drug cartels in order to keep drug alley open on federal lands from the border to the outskirts of Phoenix.
