Donald Trump entered the holiday season with a bulletproof plan for advancing his electoral and legislative goals: He would sabotage the basic functioning of the government that he presides over, so as to draw attention to the fact that the Democratic Party does not support an extremely unpopular immigration policy. Or, more concretely, he would refuse to fund the federal government until congressional Democrats agreed to appropriate upwards of $5 billion for his border wall (even though the Republican Senate had already signaled that it was willing to fund the government without such an appropriation, and Democrats would only need to wait a matter of days before they assumed control of the House).
And yet, somehow, the government has been (partially) shuttered for six days now — and the Democrats have yet to surrender.

Are you sure the government is shut down? I don’t notice any difference. Unfortunately another citizen (officer) was killed by an illegal criminal yesterday in CA.
Fund the wall.
The wall won’t do ANYONE any good. But tRump and his troglodytes just don’t get it. Sad that they don’t understand the fake news regarding the wall and all the problems it will never solve, let alone the real deal and the problems it will create.
Although Trump likes to claim credit, it’s actually Democrats who are shutting down the government. The fact is: walls work, they work now, they’ve worked for thousands of years. Nobody is claiming the wall would halt all illegal traffic across the border, but any significant reduction is worthwhile. It’s bizarre that Democrats and “liberal” voters are against protecting the borders and stopping the free flow of hard drugs, armed gangs, sex traffickers, and illegal aliens. They suffer so badly from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” that they would rather see the country destroyed, their fellow Americans murdered or over-dosed.
Trump will pass a budget that funds the wall, so if Democrats weren’t so insane about this, they could get things put in the budget that they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to pass. Instead, they’d rather hurt the entire population of the United States to prove a political point. They’re disgusting. Trump said what to do to get a budget passed, so do it. In the meantime, those who support harming the nation for ideological reasons should be recognized as the rape-enabling (80% of women crossing illegally get raped), child-death encouraging villains that they are.

Yes, TDS is a national scourge much like RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) but without any of the pharmaceutical huckstering crowding the morning news shows.
I believe TDS is all around us, manifested by a willingness to believe contradictory statements issued minutes, or hours or days apart by someone who denies science, considers both facts and truth obsolete and quaint notions, and debates his many “enemies” using an odd mix of schoolyard taunts and blustering ad hominems.
When will the nation wake up and demand a War of TDS?

Sooo…….. we build a “real” wall across the entire Southern border. Then we slash the size of the border Patrol (agents we’ve been using to patrol this expansive area whom are no longer needed because we now have a wall.) ( Sorry people…. you lost your jobs to a wall) Maybe they can go back to working in our lovely prison systems?
If we manage to downsize the BP by about 30% the wall would fund itself through these cuts to the tune of over a billion a year.
Trump is the one who is deranged if he thinks a wall covering the entire border will cost any less than $70,000,000,000 – or more.
Meanwhile, Trump keeps on spreading propaganda in behalf of Russia. Soon the smart money will be booked on bets against him. Believe his lies at your own peril.
