FX is taking a chance with a new animated series, and the main character happens to be gay.
Chozen is about a homosexual, white rapper fresh out of prison on a quest for redemption. Among the many executive producers of the show include Eastbound & Down star Danny McBride and Archer creator Adam Reed. Chozen is voiced by SNL star Bobby Moynihan. The cast includes Hannibal Buress, Danny McBride, Kathryn Hahn, Nick Swardson and Michael Peña. Gay animated series haven’t been very successful in the past, but to be fair, this hasn’t really been pulled off before. Simpsons Executive producer Mike Reiss launched Queer Duck with Showtime in 2002. The cartoon was cancelled, but developed a cult following and became a webseries that appealed to the UK market.
Will viewers be “gay” for Chozen?
Chozen premieres Monday, January 13 at 10:30 p.m. EST on FX.

Um. This is satire people. Ok. Let me explain it. It is like sarcasm. It takes it self, or pretends to take itself seriously…a gay, white, rapper. Is pretty much the opposite of what rap is. On top or that, if you hear that song, “murder, sex, sex, sex, muder”. They are making fun of the insipid lyrics of misogynistic, violent rap music.
And, this is not for kids. Not little kids anyway.
Hmmm… I don’t know if this should be on public television. Instead of showing something good, like farming or raising chickens, our kids see drugs, gay sex, and other debauchery. Our country is doomed with this kinda crap being fed to our kids. Yet, what about “freedom of the press” and “free speech”?
This show. Is not. For kids. If your kids are up watching FX at 10:30 at night, that is a problem between you and your children. Most of the shows that are on now that your kids are surely watching aren’t for them, Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, South Park, etc. They weren’t made with the kids in mind. Also this show is, indeed, satirical and looks like a lot of fun, imo. Seems to me like some people need to spend time raising their kids instead of yelling at other people being adults and producing things for other adults to enjoy as well.

You can say this show is not for children, and that’s fine—-so STOP showing the commercials at 1p.m. on SATURDAY afternoon when kids are at home!!! I’m sick of this crap being shoved down my throat just because a small population of people think it’s funny. If you are a person who thinks this type of “humor” is OK, then you need to rethink either your moral code or your IQ. Next time a teen or young adult turns up on the news having done some unspeakable act- just remember this culture of debauchery we endorse. If we don’t speak up- it’s endorsement! SHAME ON FX!!!!
Hello… Get a television with parental control.. In fact just don’t watch it. The local news in any community is far worse than a tv show. Teach your kids not to hate, do drugs, smoke, and respect them selfs. That’s a start..
Don’t watch it, don’t show it to your kids, it’s not serious… these are all just ridiculous comments made by ridiculous people. Contrary to popular belief, having freedom of speech doesn’t give people the right to say anything they want. Don’t believe me? Try yelling “fire” in a movie theater or “bomb” on a plane. Some things are just not allowed for the public safety. Now, those of you who don’t understand or seem to think this kind of absolute crap is ok, need a moral education. The fact that you disagree is reason enough. Nobody with any class appreciates something that only serves to continue the degradation of our social values. I’m sure the gay community doesn’t appreciate how this character portrays them either. Put in simple terms, this show is crap and it’s just sad that there are people like those posting here that actually support it.

My kids wont be watching this crap, and neither will my wife and I. But its kinda hard to keep them from seeing it when a clip of the video came on the tv at 7:30 pm right in the middle of my family whatching ironman 2, Friday night! That’s ok fx just got put on my blocked list! No matter how much I like most of their programs as a responsible parent I have to do whats best for my family, and I suggest others do the same!

The best is the guy who says he was watching iron man 2 on fx at 7:30 pm with his family and the chozen commercial came on who then stated that his family watches shows on fx all the time and will not be anymore??? Wtf??? What shows are your kids watching on fx other than a few random movies that would be ok for them to watch? Oh wait it must be archer or let me guess sons of anarchy or maybe justified! I’m very disappointed that anyone who despised the show a chance, it was funny, and it was legitly a satire. Unlike the sewage seeping our cable services, you’re all for that though.
