Yes, we should judge the productivity of a board that still has three vacancies over the course of one meeting by the same standards as a board that met for two years, spending nearly a million dollars on lawyers and accountants (kicking back money to pals, former co-workers, etc.) and doing absolutely nothing else (other than threatening to shut down the Rialto on at least two occasions).

That makes perfect sense, Frank. Good luck with your next election.

The editor of the Tucson Weekly. I have no idea how I got here.

  1. I never thought I would agree with Mr. Antenori, but yes it IS time to end the agony!!

  2. The PHX power base has been trying to shut down Rio Nuevo ever since Tucson decided to use the financing tool developed for their pet projects in Maricopa county down here. The progress blocking back door chicanery is as much their fault as anyones. Face it, they just resent Tucson and Antonori plays along with his republican friends to the detriment of any real progress. This guy is a first class tool.

  3. QUAKING. Republican or Democrat, fraud waste and abuse knows no party. Get off the political horse and agree with me, the agony must stop.

  4. I do agree that Rio Nuevo, and most other attempts in Tucson to enrich a few from the pockets of many, are misguided. But Antenori is only mad because he is not getting any of it. I still think we would be better off without him.

  5. Frank Antenori always has his own political ambitions foremost in mind with his pronouncements. He has been a tool of the Maricopa Republicans since he began his legislative career. It’s a complete joke to propose that this guy represents Southern Arizona and Tucson.
