Come this Friday, after a week of “invitation only” soft-opening days, the new Five Palms Steak and Seafood will be open to the public. The multi-concept operation is located at the previous home of the Terra Cotta Restaurant at 3500 E. Sunrise Drive.

After extensive renovations by owner Nino Aidi, the “three concepts in one building” is complete. There is the main Five Palms Restaurant; Nino’s Bar & Grill; and Dovino’s Wine, Cigar and Gourmet Shop. For hours or further information go to fivepalms.com or call 615-5555 for reservations.

  1. “Five Palms” is way to close to rosie palms and her five sisters. The recognition that comes from the name is not one that relates well with food service.

  2. I was looking forward to a new culinary experience in Tucson. My wife and I joined many others yesterday at the official opening. The service and the atmosphere were great. Unfortunately, the food we ordered was substandard. Our onion sup was the worse ever and my “steak” which I had to return (because it was raw, dry and cold) was poorly done. Of course, the price totally mismatched the quality of the food which was served.
There are better steak places in the neighborhood and I am not going back o this one.

  3. We, a party of three, dined at Five Palms last night, Easter Sunday. The service was excellent, friendly, and competent. The food was outstanding and we will most definitely become regulars at this fine dining establishment.

  4. We just enjoyed a lovely, but alas, expensive lunch at the newly opened Five Palms in Tucson. Elegant interior, beautifully-set tables inside and out, a bit slow in service. They bring you a little bag stand to hang your purse on and give you a jar holding readers so you can read the menu. We enjoyed drinking coffee from actual china cups with saucers-not mugs (however, had to ask for coffee spoons and got Mocca spoons). Saucers had spilled coffee on it. For refills they removed the cup and saucer and returned it filled from “somewhere” which I did not like. Steak knife was placed sharp edge out instead of in, but all together a lovely experience. Small details will just have to be worked out – if they are at all interested in it. We will definitely return.

  5. I am always suspicious of restaurants that don’t post their menus on their website. Five Palms shows no menus. What are they trying to hide?
