Endings and Beginnings

Stuff you should know this week:

• Voting in the Best of Tucson™ readers’ poll ends this
coming Tuesday, June 2! If you haven’t already voted, you need to do
two things: one, admit that you’re a slacker, and two, head on over to
TucsonWeekly.com (if you’re not
already there) to vote. Now. Seriously! Get going, slacker! If
you want to study up first, feel free to peruse the sample ballot on
Pages 16 and 17.

If you have already voted … thank you!

• Adam Borowitz, our fantastic City Week listings coordinator,
has let us know he’s going to soon be leaving the Tucson Weekly.
Unless we can talk him out of departing—and God knows we’re
trying—we’ll be looking for someone else to fill the gig.

If you’re the sort of person who loves intelligent data entry; is
detail-oriented nearly to a fault; deals well with people; and has some
writing and journalism experience, you may want to apply. It’s a
part-time job—20 to 28 hours per week—and it pays $10 an
hour. For more details, see the ad on Page 8 or in the Classifieds
section. If you have any questions, drop me a line. The deadline for
applications is this coming Wednesday, June 3, at noon. Don’t be
late!

• Be on the lookout for details on our 25th anniversary summer
fiction contest; those tidbits will be coming your way soon. In the
meantime, feel free to start thinking about short stories. Like,
really short stories …
