So I am sitting at home in the recliner, doing some copy-editing on my laptop, when all of a sudden, it feels like the chair is … shaking.
I turn to the significant other and tell him it feels like my chair is vibrating or something. He looks at me like I am a loon.
So … did you feel it?

“So … did you feel it?” (Posted by Jimmy Boegle on Sun, Apr 4, 2010 at 4:08 PM)
Nope. Wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing. The usual problem…
Sure did. I was sitting on my couch with my laptop on Facebook and my couch was moving back and forth. Being from Southern CA. I knew what I was feeling but in denial since we don’t get quakes here and my husband who was sitting next to me didn’t feel it so he thought I was looney tunes then a friend on FB posted the quake in CA…turned on CNN and I looked at him and said “told you so”. Now I am trying to get a hold of family and friends who were right in the middle of it.
my brother in San Diego called me and aksed if we felt the quake…..and yes we did
In Chandler tt felt like a dizzy spell for 30 seconds, somewhat bewildering not knowing what was happening until I looked at my pool outside and saw the waves slapping up onto the side and the hanging lamp in the family room became a pendulum.
Yes I did! Was eating Easter dinner with the fam when suddenly the chandelier began to sway. I’ve lived in San Diego, experienced a 6.0 before, and for whatever the reason, it just didn’t register. CRAZY to feel it in TUCSON! Happy Easter!
Yep. Chair got the liquidy wobbles and I saw things hanging on the walls doing the mambo, so exclaimed to a friend I was IMing with “We’re having a tremor!” whereupon she (in Florida) popped by the USGS and confirmed that, yes, we did, despite the distance from epicenter. I was feeling subsonics from aftershocks until after 5pm; most unpleasant (that’s the dizzy, apprehensive feeling some people get. And why the military and alw enforcement want a low-frequency sonic weapon.)
Nope. Nada. I remember when it happened because my CA Twitter friends were all posting. Felt nothing. Cat’s been agitated most the evening, tho. (Yes, I’ve lived in earthquake zones. Like volcano earthquakes. And felt some in Yuma.)
Felt it on the NW side of town. I was at the computer and it felt like a big truck rumbling past at first (although we live on a private drive with no traffic). Then I noticed the door was swinging and the picture above the computer was rattling against the wall and the blinds on the patio door swaying. First one I’ve felt in years.
Yes. Felt it downtown. We’re rehearsing at Beowulf Alley Theatre for the upcoming production. I was sitting in the theatre seats watching the run-through and felt a slight swaying from side to side. I thought I was just feeling dizzy, or crazy, but it turns out I’m not a loon either!
yup at the UA in a 3rd story bldg., and I knew what it was immediately having grown up on a volcanic island, with earthquakes all the time.
