The Six-Million-Dollar Man: Mark Kelly is way out ahead of Sen. Martha McSally in the dash for cash.

Democratic challenger Mark Kelly continues to outraise Republican Sen. Martha McSally in what’s sure to be one of the most competitive U.S. Senate races in the country.

Kelly announced today that he’d raised $6.3 million in fourth quarter of 2019, bringing his total haul for 2019 to more than $20 million.

Meanwhile, McSally boasted that she’d had her best quarter of the year between October and December. Even so, she raised just $4 million, bringing her total for the year to more than $12 million.

At the start of 2020, Kelly had $13.6 million in the bank, while McSally had $7.6 million, according to the campaigns.

The announcement came a week after a new poll from Public Policy Polling showed Kelly leading McSally by 4 percentage points, with 46 percent of voters supporting Kelly and 42 percent supporting McSally. The survey of 760 Arizona voters, conducted Jan. 2-4, fits the pattern of similar polls released throughout 2019, with Kelly holding a narrow lead over McSally.

  1. Unlike Mark Kelly — who retired at age 47 over 8 years ago — hardworking Senator McSally doesn’t have the time to traipse around the country holding “receptions” with rich donors & she still has very successful fundraising. At Mark Kelly’s so-called reception with rich California Democrats in Pacific Palisades last week these were his requests: Co-host – $2800; Sponsor – $1000; Patron – $750; Friend – $500; Supporter – $250; Guest – $100. I don’t think Martha would ever consider that kind of elitist party to raise money.

Kelly also earned nearly $1.8 million in paid speeches in 2018 -2019, including several hundred thousand dollars since announcing his Senate campaign, according to a personal financial disclosure. That was just before claiming he would turn down corporate money.

Why do Kelly’s handlers think they need to go to California for a fundraiser? Do people actually think the Texas carpetbagger cares about Arizona? Why did he price his Texas house too high to sell? Does he really plan to stay in Arizona?

  2. I notice most of you nit wits never mention Dan McCarty…the guy that is going to wipe the crap out of McSilent and then send the AstroNut back to Texas or wherever the heck he came from. Shame on a man who uses his wife’s tragedy to gain attention. Without her, he would even be a glitch on the radar.
