Yeah, disgraced former state legislator Daniel Patterson (or “Daniel R. Patterson,” or “D.R. Patterson,” or “Dr. Patz,” as I hope he is called out on the streets), is supposedly entertaining thoughts of running for public office again. Good for him.

This comes from a tweet from Patterson, in which he says he’d run for the open LD3 seat if Macario Saldate steps down to apply for a job with the Department of the Interior.

Of course, looking at the ethics report that was filed (not to mention the domestic violence charges he was acquitted of that spurred the ethics investigation) and the way he quit just before nearly certainly getting bounced, it’s difficult to say that Dr. Patz has as clean a record as he alleges.

So, uh. Good luck, Daniel. Let’s hope this goes better for you than your political stint in New Mexico.

  1. The truth is I was fully exonerated of false charges by a tough woman judge in Tucson in August 2012. David Mendez has never talked with me about any of this or even tried to contact me for the truth. The ‘report’ he pushes is full of unproven anonymous false claims. It is nothing but politically motivated garbage from a dishonest legislature, where I was denied due process by Republicans. I’ve made some mistakes. We all have. But I never broke the law. I’ve learned from my mistakes, improved and moved forward. I’m proud of my progressive record and strong service to the people of Arizona as an independent-minded lawmaker. Follow me on twitter @DanPattersonUSA. Thanks, Rep. Daniel Patterson (fmr), Tucson

  2. Daniel, you, as a politician, should well know perception is everything. And you ain’t well perceived around these here parts….
