The Arizona Diamondbacks may have gone off to the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick (a bigger, better stadium complex) near Scottsdale, but they haven’t forgot about their fans in the Old Pueblo.

The 2014 Spring Training tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Jan. 11, but Tucson D-Back fans are eligible for a 50% discount on all 2014 spring training games by using the promo code PIMA50. This sweet deal STARTS on Friday, Jan. 10, but ends at midnight. The discount only works in conjunction with a Pima County zip code, and up to 8 tickets per discount.

D-Backs spring training tickets sold out all 12 games at Salt River Fields last year, according to the press release. The opening game will be Feb. 26 versus the 2013 National League West Champions, Los Angeles Dodgers.

  1. Nice deal – except they don’t play the Reds in Scottsdale. Guess I’ll have to drive the whole way out to Goodyear to see my team…

  2. So let me get this right…

The 50% Off tix for Pima County residents are for games up in Scottsdale, then ?

Will there be a MLB Spring Training game (or 2?) played by the DBacks (or Dodgers, or whomever) in TUCSON in March 2014 ?

  3. Of course the PHOTO with the story (showing DBacks mgr. Gibby and Dodgers mgr. Mattingly, both former notable players in their day, catching a 1st pitch by a kid-o. How charming is THAT.) shows Tucson Electric Park.
I believe that to be a MISLEADING picture.
Since the games the story is about require a 4-hour gas-guzzling ($$$) haul up to & back from Snotsdale. ( Geez, hope they don’t charge for parking too @ Talking Stick!)
Let’s hear more about some Spring Training games in TUCSON.
Are you listening MLB & Joe G. Jr. ?

  4. I was disappointed that the Dbacks weren’t playing the Reds this spring at Talking Stick. I found out that the Rockies (who also play in Scottsdale) do play against Cincy. Turns out this deal isn’t just for the Dbacks – it must be from Salt River Fields because I got the half price tickets off the Colorado Rockies website. Too bad the local media hasn’t informed Rockies fans of this opportunity…

  5. Hey Rich,

I had no idea that Rockies had the same deal. Dbacks sent me the info and I ran with it. My favorite baseball team growing up was the Rockies because of all the spring training games my mom and dad took me to.
