The Salvation Army Tucson is holding its annual Caring Kits Collection Drive, happening now through April 15. The drive seeks new, travel-size and full-size hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, razors and feminine hygiene products.

Donations will be assembled into Caring Kits and distributed to shelter guests to help meet basic needs and restore dignity.

“Access to simple hygiene essentials can make a powerful difference for someone working toward stability,” said Major Andres Espinoza, city coordinator for The Salvation Army Tucson. “These kits offer more than toiletries. They offer encouragement, hope and a reminder that our community cares.”

Drop off new, travel-size and full-size products at 1002 N. Main Avenue.

Organizations such as schools, churches, businesses and community groups may also host a drive. For information, contact volunteer Coordinator Kristin Ohman at 520-448-3997 or email her at kristin.ohman@usw.salvationarmy.org.

Monetary donations are also needed and may be made at salvationarmytucson.org. The funds will go to help purchase needed supplies. Gifts may qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit.

Through programs providing shelter, meals and case management, The Salvation Army Tucson remains committed to serving individuals and families facing homelessness in the community.
