Celebrate the summer with the littles at the annual LOFT KIDS FEST hosted by the Loft Cinema. Kick off the fun with a free screening of “Zootopia 2” at an Outdoor Movie Party on Friday, May 29, at Himmel Park, 1000 N. Tucson Boulevard. 

The movie will begin at sundown, about 7:45 p.m., Lahaina Shaved Ice and You Sly Dog food trucks will be onsite with food for purchase. Families should bring their own blankets and seating.

Follow the screening with more free movies beginning the next day, Saturday, May 30, at the Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Boulevard.

Those screenings will include games, activities, giveaways, prize raffles, popcorn and more. The pre-show activities will be hosted by the staff of Mildred & Dildred Toy Store.

Free tickets will be available at the box office on the morning of the movie and includes a free popcorn. Doors open and activities begin at 9:15 a.m.

Saturday, June 20, “The Addams Family,” plus a new animated short and before the movie, see a live musical performance from the cast of Saguaro City Music Theatre’s production of The Addams Family. The full production will run from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28 at the Berger Performing Arts Center.

Sunday, June 21, “FernGully: The Last Rainforest,” plus a new animated short

Saturday, June 27, “The Emperor’s New Groove,” plus a new animated short

Sunday, June 28, “The Muppet Movie,” plus a new animated short and a rainbow glow stick will be given out. A free small Eegee will be available after the movie while supplies last.

Besides showing the latest in Hollywood and independent movies, the Loft Cinema has several movies for adults. But unlike the Kids’ Fest, these movies require a paid ticket.

The screenings that are part of the Hollywood Classic Series begins at 11 a.m. Cost is $9/general admission, $8.50/seniors 65 and older, $8.50/children 12 and younger and $6/Loft members.
