Disc golf is back for the summer at the Pusch Ridge 9 in Oro Valley.

Oro Valley’s Parks and Recreation Department reopened the Pusch Ridge Disc Golf Course on Saturday, May 30, welcoming players to “one of the area’s most scenic outdoor experiences,” the town said in a release.”

The 10000 North Oracle course, which is placed atop the seasonally dried Pusch Ridge 9 golf course, is rated one of the top 10 disc golf courses in Arizona by UDisc.com, the release said. That’s “a nod to the course’s standout design, views and player experience.”

The 18-hole course, at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, pairs “desert beauty with a layout that is as fun as it is challenging.” It offers “a great round for everyone, from seasoned players chasing birdies to first-timers learning the game, making it an easy pick for a summer outing with friends or family.”

From May 30 through Sept. 20, the course is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For an additional fee, carts are available on weekends, from 7 to 11 a.m. The pro shop offers disc rentals and refreshments on weekends. There are optional short tees on all holes, marked in yellow, for newer players or those who prefer “a more approachable layout.”

A Professional Disc Golf Association-sanctioned league takes to the course every Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. starting June 6. Details are available at PlayOV.com.

Weekend tee times can be booked at playov.com. All other play is allowed on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees are $10 per round for each disc golfer. Summer memberships are also available online.

“Grab your favorite discs and round up your crew,” the town said. “Whether you’re coming to see what makes a top-10 Arizona course or simply looking for a fun way to get outside, Pusch Ridge is ready to welcome disc golfers back for the season.”
