3. Crowds congregate and tensions rise.
4. Jesse Jackson types call for justice or vengeance.
5. Rioting is fueled by unknown whites.(*)
6. The town burns destroying the businesses that are there to support the area.
7. After being destroyed the businesses decide not to rebuild as the risk to employees and business success is doubtful.
8. Democrats demand federal aid to rebuild area because of redlining and other discriminatory actions, citing that there are no jobs for minority youth. (Don’t forget the arsonists burned down their jobs)
9. Those that support this cycle have, in effect made themselves slaves to a failed system. One that is designed to fail…So it does fail and they start all over again.

Gotta love that ‘Obama Phone’ trope. Free phones for poverty level people was a program started by Ronald Reagan and later privatized by G.W. Bush. President Obama had absolutely nothing to do with them, since they had already been removed from government control before he entered office, but the right wing just can’t pass up a good slur. So, if you want a factual slur, call them what they are, Reagan Phones.

Over that time, the usage of cell phones rose and the costs came down. Assuming one believes in the Lifeline program in the first place, and remembering that the FCC has mandated the program, it only makes sense to expand the phone assistance program to include cell phones. So, in 2008 the first application of this program for mobile phones began when a company called Tracfone started their Safelink Wireless service in Tennessee.
1985 was subsidized phone bills, not cell phones.
