  1. I really can’t understand why building a wall or a fence on our southern border is offensive to some individuals. I have a fence that surrounds my property . I don’t consider my self to be a racist, because I’m not. It might be a primitive way of keeping out unwanted guests, but I feel a sense of security in doing so. I think that goes without saying, all of us feel at ease to have a barrier when our children are playing out in the yard. Some of us even go as far as to get a pet that will prevent unwanted people from entering our property. If a stranger enters my property threw the gate I don’t feel threatened, but if he jumps my fence I know he’s up to no good. I consider he’s actions a threat. I believe every American wants their nation to be secured , after all it is our home and we should use every method primitive or technological to protect and defend the citizens of this country.

  2. Once again, Clay Jones hits the nail on the head and drives the point home with a single blow; Tweeto the Cheeto had better get used to hearing the word “No”

  3. Daria, with all due respect, do you honestly believe that Nancy, and Chuck and the rest of our government elected officials live in unsecured communities ? Or course not. They live in gated communities and have the best security money can buy. They have the privilege to have armed security that will respond to their call at a moments notice. In the other hand we have the poor and the middle class who have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for the police to respond to their 911emergency call. Their neighborhoods aren’t gang infested . Their children are very well protected and get the very best education. I fully understand that I.C.E agents aren’t required in their part of town, they got their own agents to protect them. I’m not insinuating that all immigrants are evil, they’re not. But neither one of us would allow a total stranger into our home. My question is, ” why do they have the privilege to fully secure their home, but in the other hand we are racist if we try to secure our borders and make sure we know who comes into our country “. Just one more thing I’d like to point out, who do you think picks up the tab for our elected and privileged politicians ? The tax payer, and the lobbyist who got them elected to serve their needs.

  4. ^The wall is not the issue here. The issue is whether the executive should be able to completely shut down the government over ONE budget item or program desire The wall (barrier) is Trump’s try to demonstrate he is boss and will get what he wants regardless of the will of the people as demonstrated through their representatives.

  5. I know the shallow trump supporters, like their hero, don’t give a damn about the environment, but so many animals that depend on seasonal migration and searching for water for survival will be affected by a border wall they can’t get around. These include the Sonoran pronghorn, black bears, mountain lions, a jaguar now and then, bighorn sheep, deer, and numerous smaller animals. Just another reason we don’t need this expensive, useless, and very stupid wall.

  6. Dave, do you really think a wall around your house keeps you safe? Once someone jumps your wall to break into your house it is harder for your neighbors to see the offending person and call the law.
Or does it provide you privacy? Just remember the wall didn’t work for East Germany.

  7. Mara, he was elected by the people. He might not have won the majority vote, but he won the election according to the rules of Congress. Therefore having said this, Trump ran his campaign on the promise of border security. If he manages to control the flow of illegal entry into our country, then he has fulfilled the wish of ” we the people. ” If you feel he’s presidency is illegitimate because he won by the rules of the game, then we could argue the results of the loss of our favorite football team based on the rules set by the N.F.I . You can’t change the rules of the game because your team lost on a technically, you accept your defeat and move on.

  8. Smithhappens, if Walls and barriers are so primitive and don’t serve a purpose, then why do so many people in industry and security spend millions of dollars annually ? Does that make any sense ?

  9. Bart, I agree a barrier on our southern border would have some consequences on wildlife. However, our priority should be the welfare of our citizens. I realize that a number of our elected officials and their base oppose Trump regardless of his policies. However, there is a time when we must yield to the facts in stead of our emotions. Nancy, and chuck, have not spent years patrolling our border. The agents who have first hand experience on the effects of illegal immigration should be the ones we should consult on this matter. And they all agree, ” a barrier is needed on our southern border.” You don’t ask a plumber for advice on your electrical problems, you ask an electrician, right ?

  10. I have a link for you Dave D. It shatters most of what you and comrade Trump hold dear.

    http://www.alternet.org/2018/12/here-are-5-reasons-trumps-border-wall-isnt-just-a-bad-idea-its-an-embarrassing-joke-of-a-policy/amp/

Daria Christine, C.H. Mara, Bart and smithappens all made astute observations. A full border length wall is nothing but a racist vanity project for a guy that made a campaign promise to you that the Mexicans would pay for it. If the Mexicans are going to pay for it, then why is Trump keeping 800,000 government employees hostage over it? Read C.H. Mara’s comment again and you’ll have the real answer, not the malarkey Trump is somehow winning you over with.

  11. Devad, if your theory is correct and spending money on a wall or barrier is a waste of tax payer money, then we should take a hard look at our public school system, and investigate the use of wasteful spending on securing our campuses. If you have some free time, take a drive around town and you’ll agree that most of our public schools grounds are surrounded by a fence of some type. If you honestly believe that it’s a waste of money, then you should do the right thing and present your case to our school districts. If they won’t listen , write a letter to our Govenor, if he doesn’t respond to your request, have the F. B.I. Investigate possible collusion with the Trump Administration.

  12. Wow, that’s some serious deflection you have going on there Dave D.

You ought to replace current spokesgoon Sanders as Trump’s Press Secretary.

Did you even read the link that I posted? Oh, screw it! You just view facts as fake news anyhow.

Also, you didn’t answer my question about one of the many campaign promises that comrade Trump hasn’t fulfilled. Why isn’t he bothering the Mexicans for the money he said they would pay for the wall? Why do government employees from his country have to suffer because the people from the other country won’t pay up like he promised? I anticipate your answers to these questions, not the reflections which you have provided so far.

Anticipaaation…it’s making me late. (Thanks Carly!)

  13. Devad, P.S. .. If you take my advice and attend the next school board hearing, be sure to address the parents of students on the matter. And if for some miraculous reason you’re still in good health , write back and let us all know how it all panned out for you.

  14. More deflection. Isn’t that just darling?

One has to wonder, are you unable to answer questions or are you just in complete denial? I say it’s the denial thing. Anyone who really thinks the wall is a great idea after all the good advice that has been presented here and elsewhere is obviously in denial. Or they’re just flat out racist. Or stupid. Or dumb. Or possibly all of the above. Who knows?

Don’t bother to come back with more deflection, unless you want to start looking more like an intentional troll, as opposed to the unintentional one you’re attempting to portray.

  15. Just sitting here, waiting for the answers to the questions that I’ll probably never receive.

At least the soundtrack is good. Listening to Led Zeppelin’s “Trampled Under Foot”. Otherwise known as TUF!

At least the music is tough. Unlike you and your annoying deflection.

  16. Devad, I apologize for taking so long to answer back. Got to do my rounds . Okay, you made your point, or did you? You’re obviously upset . I’m not because it goes without saying, ” I’ve made my case in a rational train of thought. ” However, you resorted to humiliation tactics. I’m not surprised by your reaction, not at all. If I was in your position , I’d most likely do the same. But I try my darnest to avoid this from happening . I hate being humiliated by a little common sense and logic. My shift is almost come to an end, Long night . Have a nice day.

  17. Still no answer to the questions I presented, yet some interesting answers and insight into other things.

All right Dave D., I give up. I’m not here to make an everlasting thing out of this.

    Have a nice day also.
