In addition, the Chinese are actively using their economic strength in both South America and Africa to establish relationships that will help insure their preeminence when the inevitable conflict with Russia begins.
Right now there are only two solutions that could seriously upset this scenario: 1) A massive pandemic that forces a redistribution of resources and priorities — which may actually accelerate the Russian and Chinese timetables, or 2) a strike by an asteroid sufficiently large enough to take out mankind and let the Earth start all over again.
Then again, maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and FOX News will have been bought out by Disney, Donald Trump will resign to avoid impeachment, The United Kingdom will do a complete and total do-over of the flawed Brexit vote, China will return to just taking care of its own, and Vladimir Putin will have a stroke that makes his twilight years like those of Lenin — a prisoner in his own house cared for by someone like Stalin with all the warmth and humanity that kind of person could muster.
