For one, China ceased to be “communist” when it ceased nationalizing the means of production from everybody and stopped distributing wealth and GDP more or less equitably. Costco’s and Walmart’s merchandise has not been nationalized. In fact, their profits remain very much “privatized.” So much for “communist China.”
That said, when Congress approved international trade treaties (i.e. NAFTA, et al) it gave a mass incentive for most American manufacturing and factories to shut down here and open factories abroad. Thus, Congress destroyed America’s living-wage earning class, the backbone of the American economy. Read your history books, folks. Individuals from Ralph Nader to Ross (*the giant sucking sound you will hear is American jobs going overseas*…A PARAPHRASE) Perot warned us of these coming economically depressed days. No one gave a hoot but the demonstrators in Seattle who got nothing but pain for their troubles.
Blame your DEMOCRATICALLY elected officials for China’s bounty today, not that silly, boogeyman label, “communism,” yet another interpellation-inducing, rhetorical weapon of mass distraction… We done it to ourselves, folks. It takes some kind of special genius to be able to argue aganst the point all the time. Alas, the genus is misapplied. It would be awesome if you could apply that to convincing your coleagues that climate change exists.
You probably could have convinced 95% of the public that climate change is happening.
It’s just that when politicians blamed the US for causing it, and tax payers were looking at being forced to pay to repair the world, while Al Gore flew around the country in private jets selling carbon credits, that thinking Americans got just a little suspicious,…. and you lost quite a few. In a free country we are not all required to think the same. At least not yet.
My question for you is “If Obama believes that sea levels are rising, why is he purchasing a $15M home on the shores of Martha’s Vineyard?” Could they even buy flood insurance if it is a “known” risk?
