We told you last week that the Pima County Democratic Party was funding an independent committee that was hitting Democratic City Council candidate Joe Flores for his links to the payday-loan industry.
Flores, who hopes to unseat Ward 1 Councilwoman Regina Romero, is planning to speak out against the campaign at a press conference in front of Democratic Party headquarters on Wednesday morning.
We couldn’t get ahold of Flores yesterday, but we did reach Luis Gonzales, who is running Flores’ campaign.
“Of course we’re concerned about what the party is doing,” Gonzales told The Range. “We’ve been concerned about what the party’s been doing since way back when they decided to endorse the incumbent. We know that it’s wrong. It’s not an ethical thing to do and it’s the first time the party has done such a thing.”
Gonzales said he suspects that there might be a link between the independent campaign committee and the Romero campaign.
“We believe that there’s a real question there,” Gonzales says.
Jeff Rogers, chairman of the Pima County Democratic Party, concedes that it’s the first time that the party has funded an effort against a Democrat—if you consider Flores to be a Democrat.
“I don’t recall us ever doing this before, but … I’m not sure we see eye-to-eye on whether Mr. Flores is a bona fide Democrat or whether he is really a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” says Rogers, citing Flores’ appearances on various conservative radio programs.

Your are right I guess, Regina Romero list her supporter and staff, Republican Lillian Grant as her campaign committee member!

Keep in mind, not all Republicans are bad. Only the ones in political positions, and those who support them. I can’t say anything that good about the Tea Party, and their supporters.
