City Council Axes City Manager

1. Believe this is the best action possible. Submitting a resignation letter 12 months out generally indicates the individual will be ineffectual during the remaining time period, so it is best to make the removal immediate. Hopefully this will result in a better functioning Council.

3. The City Council is dysfunctional. The mayor is a joke and I’m glad he is retiring. The Manager may be an idiot but then look at who selected him.

   I agree that saying you’re leaving in 12 months is like saying, I’m retired but don’t want to leave just yet.

   The City would be better off with Steve Kozachik and 5 new members. Karin Uhlich is so far left she makes Obama look like a centrist.

4. while the firing still gives 6 months pay, a financial woe to an already strapped city, Letcher added to the malaise with fear talking tatics, when in the end just gave preferencial treatment to those closest to him, and snubbing the city population as a whole. Better days hopefully lay ahead…

5. I have lived in Tucson for 20 years and things can not get any worse off. Time for new business leadership to take control and move Tucson is a better direction.

6. Anyone who holds a position in any company (Tucson) who would give a letter of resignation would be allowed two weeks. How did Mr. Letcher think he was going to get away with 11 months???? Good Riddance!

7. Stephan there are people getting promoted all over the city due to the large number of retirees in upper management. The people you malign for getting raises got promoted and only those people got them. Even the star reported that.

8. Fulltimer is a dreamer indeed. Without a bickering city who is going to keep the star in business?

9. Obama is a centrist (whiner above claims Ulich is so “far left” that she makes Obama look centrist)….. The tea party is so far to the extreme right that neo-nazi’s look leftist

10. Firing him was the lesser of 2 evils. Charter must be changed so the next wacko they anoint to that position can’t hold us hostage for 6 months pay…………6 MONTHS PAY. Why can’t I resign and get half a year salary………..come on. In lieu of having to be productive in order to succeed I should have become a governement type but I guess my a.d.d. wouldn’t allow me to be only addequate which is what you need to succeed in government. Don’t be strong enough to be a threat to your imediate supervisor but do your job which is more than your peers are doing.

11. There is absolutely no justification for keeping a man who gives himself and his top cronies huge pay raises with money the city supposedly doesn’t have, while furloughs for city workers continues. Letcher is the epitome of of arrogance and disfunction.

12. Nice to actually think that NEW leadership will solve any problems. With the OLD city council (except that Steve guy) still IN CHARGE we will get nothing more than “a puppet”.

    Puppets are nice but after while, theyre just creepy.

13. Nothing new in City politics. We got big problems: streets, traffic, TCC, yet they go unattended. Its been like that for years, and the future doesn’t look and probably won’t be any different.

15. Why is it that noone is content? Those that have, are not content and those that do not have ,are not content.
    Those that do not have, should be happy they have less to worry about. The more you have,the more you have to worry about.
    Those that do have ,should be happy “if” they use what they have wisely. Much good has been done by the rich that help others instead of using their wealth only for themselves.Obama is causing a class wars and that is wrong. To judge someone by how big their house is, or how much money they have is wrong. What people do not know is how much that person may be helping others with their wealth.
    Some of the most generous people have been the most wealthy and some of the most greedy are those that have nothing….SS
